I've been getting the Peoria Journal-Star delivered on Sundays for ~8 months now. Really just for the coupons, but giving me an hours worth of reading on the weekends was a bonus.(I didn't get to read it until tonight due to RAGBRAI, but after reading all I would read... I got to thinking I should cancel this subscription
The coupons have SUCKED lately. Either nothing, coupons I won't use, or one whopping 25 cent coupon that I might use before it expires in 3 weeks. I feel like I am not saving any money as I am not saving at least $8/month from coupons to justify the subscription. Yes it is nice to see all the store ads on Sundays, but they are all online. Most the the regular paper can be read online as well, just maybe not in the easiest format.
Maybe I am just bummed out as I am used to The Washington Post from childhood... and it is just a loaded paper (granted they are different size markets). I had the DSM Register delivered for about a year 5 years ago when I lived in Iowa, it was ho-hum, but I don't recall the paper not being worth my time. I want to support the paper being here for years to come (although they are mainly ad supported).
Does anyone else have similar feelings about the newspaper?? Or am I just loco?
