Jersey Nestie considering a move to CA....

We are thinking of relocating to San Diego. What are the popular realtors out there so I can look at houses online?

Re: Jersey Nestie considering a move to CA....

  • Go to SDLookup.com

It shows all the MLS listings for San Diego County.

I don't know any specific realtors, but if you just want an idea for prices and areas check that site.

  • SanDiegoBride07 can recommend you her realtor, she's VERY happy with his services!

I would check out Realtor.com to get an idea of what's available.

San Diego (like a lot of cities) is pretty big.  Do you know what areas you're interested in?  That could give you a better idea on the costs and all that.

  • AllenShall.com has a great MLS lookup format that I love.  He's located in Fallbrook and I know nothing about him, though.  So I'm not recommending the realtor, just the format he uses to show MLS listings.

I haven't bought yet so I don't know any Realtors personally.  Sorry!

  • WE love love love our realtor (we're closing escrow in 8 days).  You can contact him if you'd like, but I know he likes his clients to get loan pre-approval before he starts working with them (this way you & he know what you're pre-approved for and what your housing limit is).  If you decide you want a realtor feel free to page me and I can give him you info (We love our loan guy too!)

Before we actually contacted a realtor & applied for anything I used to look up homes on sandiegoinsider.com

    Good luck!!!

  • Kent Johnson from Prudential Encinitas. We've used him for two purchases and a sale. Inlaws have used him several times. He has an MLS lookup format on his website. www.sdsoldsign.com

We actually just relocated from NJ to San Diego last year...

There are SO many different areas in SD...all with different prices of condos/houses. We currently rent downtown but are working iwth a realtor now to buy.

Would you consider renting first so you can see what areas you like? We had NO idea where we wanted to live but knew we wanted to try the city (had lived in NJ suburbs, worked in Manhattan) and wanted something different!

Good luck, let us know if you have questions!

What part of NJ do you live?

We are moving from NJ also in October. We'll be living in La Jolla. If you have specific moving questions, I can most likely help you out since we've been in contact with many different moving companies.

  • Yeah, I would rent first.  Get  a feel for the land or buy something small and upgrade later if you want.  I always assumed I'd live near the beach but last year moved up to Crest (in the mountains of El Cajon) and LOVE IT up there!  I'm temporarily down in Chula Vista (Otay Ranch area... so the nice part!) but we are hoping to buy a house up in Crest soon!
