Two male Chow mix dogs found...

A group of us were out by Fort Christmas on a bike ride Saturday and stumbled upon two dogs on the side of the road, at first glance we were not even sure they were alive they turned out to be two of the sweetest dogs, friendly to everyone. Obviously we couldn't leave them there, some of the group rode back to the cars and a few of us waited with the dogs. On the way back a few of the girls stopped at the firehouse a mile or two away and was told the dogs had been seen in the area for the last 7 days just wandering and thought they may have been dumped as that happens a lot out in that area, we seem to think that may be the case because no one saw any signs posted for lost dogs.

I have looked though the lost dogs websites through Orange County and have not been able to locate the owners. All the "no kill" shelters are to capacity so I will be keeping them at our house for now "fostering" them until they find a forever home.

It would be great if they could be together as they appear to be really attached, the big one was flea biting the little one and they would lay on each other, so cute.

Both are very sweet and smart. They are so gentle and perky! The larger dog was shaking hands with the girls!

  • Do you have pictures? I used to work in an animal hospital and might have some people that would know of someone willing to foster and/or adopt.

  • Thanks for helping me try to find a home for these animals.

Sad news, they did find a great home but it ended badly.

The larger dog attacked the little guy! They were still at the vet and the tech was taking them out on the leash and he just lunged. So awful. The little guy died and so they euthanized the larger dog.

The new owner is so great. She paid all the bills and boarding and even took them home to be buried (she never even truly took them home!) What an animal lover.
