Flat Iron Recs??
Hi Girls!
I have been using the CHI flat iron for the last several years and have had to replace it 3 times because the electrical cord keeps shorting out. The first time the store told me it was because I wrapped my cord, so I made sure not to do that again. Since then, I've had to buy 2 more for the same reason. When i bought this last one a little over a year ago, I noticed it had a different plug on it...so, i'm sure they had problems with them. I know there was another popular brand out there that was just as good (maybe it started with an "S"??)..... or, does anyone have any info on getting my CHI fixed??? I've emailed the company directly, but, of course, got no response.

Are you thinking of Sedu? A friend at work got one as a gift from her boyfriend and it shorted out on her, after only having it for 6 months. When she called the company they told her to send it back to them and they would replace it. After 2 weeks she still had not heard from them and called them and they said they needed her to pay 15.00 shipping fee first, when she had already paid the shipping to get it to them. She asked for me to speak to them for her and after 30 minutes I finally got them to waive the 15.00 fee. A week later she got a new iron, but her boyfriends credit card was charged the 15.00 anyway without his knowledge or permission.
I would purchase a new CHI like the one you have and take the other back using the new one's receipt and box. It is not the most honest thing, but it is also not right for them to sell you a faulty iron with a different cord. GL.
Yeah its a Sedu. I don't personally have one, but I know my little sister does, and she got it from Folica.com.
I have a CHI and I love it. Mine is from Bed Bath and Beyond, It's Pink and came with a case and a velcro wrap for the cord and a place on the case just for the cord. I reccomend buying one from BBB b/c if it breaks, they will let you just exchange it for a new one and will send the damage one back to the vendor. PLUS, they have 20% off coupons...I have a ton if you need one!

i didn't even know that bed bath and beyond carried the CHI, but that's a good idea because they take back anything! :-) And, i have a lot of the 20% coupons and $5.00 off...sometimes they let you use both. I'm just so frustrated because I buy mine from State (a friend of mine has her license) and they're under $100 there, sometimes $89! Sounds like they're notorious for their short life span so i need to buy it from somewhere that has a good return policy!! :-)
