PCP/TTC/ATP Wednesday

How's it going ladies?

QOTD:  Who was/will be the first person you leave your child with? AKA...let babysit

Re: PCP/TTC/ATP Wednesday

  • QOTD: Most likely my mom...but given the option, C's best friend Dave.

News: We have a KD that we are 95% sure we're going with, if we can work out all the legalities. Now to find out where to start...

  • We will be at try #6 later this week or this weekend.  There was an availabilty scare with the bank, yet that has been shaken out now.

    Probably DW's mom/parents.

  • So far so good.  I'm hungry, thirst, warm, pee alot and get tired early.  Oh and my boobs hurt.  I suppose I should be thankful for all of that and I am :-) I'm just trying to occupy my mind until our ultrasound next week but it's difficult.

QOTD: Considering we're so far away from family I really don't know.  I think I'd probably ask Nestie Abba but she'll have her own little one by the time I give birth.  So I'm not sure.

  • The nanny transition is going better. It has been a rough week with Gray as he is testing is boundaries - but he is listening to her more and more and throwing less tantrums/and being less disrespectful.

QOTD: I can't remember who it was. Finding someone who was willing to take care of 2 babies was TOUGH!  I think it was our friend Suzanne. She has several neices/nephews  and we knew she could handle it.  The boys godfather may have come over to lend an extra pair of hands.  If it wasn't them, then it was our nanny when I went back to work at 4m. Neither of our parents have ever babysat or offered to babysit.

  • M/S is going to kill me. I was hoping that some better days would be sneaking in... instead today was the worst yet. I feel like absolute sh!t. 2 more weeks, 2 more weeks.

My mom/parents will probably be the first people we leave the baby with. But outside my mom it will probably be our best friends, Ro & Pat.

  • we bought a crib! and a dresser! we have baby furniture at our house!

    Big Smile

tomorrow afternoon we have the monthly appointment with the ob for a general checkup, and i think she'll be moving to bi-weekly appointments soon.

qotd: i would guess our first babysitter will be my parents. which i suppose would actually be babysitters since it would probably be both of them. if it's not my parents it'll be hers, but mine live in town so they're more likely.

  • We have purchased our swimmers, and they will ship next week!  We are just looking forward to try #1, which will be in about 2.5 weeks!!  It feels so good to be getting started.

In PCP news - I am finally going to make myself a dentist appointment...  Embarrassed

    QOTD: No idea.

  • We're in pcp appointment mode--dentist, well woman, and getting ready to make the first appointment with the RE. I'm slowly trying to limit caffine and focus on eating whole foods to get ready.

QOTD: Our parents will probably be the first babysitters. Although since we don't live near them, we'll have to figure out some other sitters long the way. I really want to keep up our date nights!

  • I just got off the phone w/ the social worker who did our home study. apparently they needed additional info on our employment (all of which was already provided).  It'll definitely be a few more weeks until we hear anything.

QOTD: most likely my parents although with foster children there are lots of strict rules regarding babysitters so it'll likely be quite a while before we left a foster child w/ anyone.

  • QOTD: I don't believe I am about to say this -- (no offense in that statement C)--but it will probably be C's mom. My hope is that she will come up for the birth and also be a frequent visitor. She is probably the only one I would trust besides C's dad. Unfortunately, my mom would have to be the designated chef; her health is not the best.

we got this crib and this dresser--although not from bru, so the crib was priced lower. we really loved the way the crib looks, and we liked the set-up of the dresser a lot. we got a special deal where we got 25% off the dresser for buying the crib, plus we had a 10% off coupon that they let us use on the crib on top of the other deal. still not cheap even with the discount, but it's a convertible bed so hopefully we'll be able to use it for a long, long time. yay!

  • Ohh...I like!

We also have a Sorelle crib and it has held up really well!

  • Update: We are (thankfully) only one day away from our first ultrasound! Our appointment is tomorrow morning at 7:30 am. We will be 6w2d according to LMP, but 5w5d according to our actual IUI date. We keep telling ourselves to not expect to see too much (e.g. a heartbeat) because it's so early, but of course we are hoping we see more than we expect!

I have been feeling okay (too okay for my comfort, sometimes). I am pretty sore, though, which is constant but worse in the mornings and evenings. I had my first bout of almost-throwing-up yesterday when I ate some apple slices & pb. I didn't, though. A coworker stopped me to chat as I was on the way to the restroom (ugh), and I was able to quell the urge.

QOTD: I think S is right that it will probably be my parents. That is, of course, assuming they come up for the birth or for a visit sometime.

I used to worry that my mom would take the baby and run (thinking she'd be giving the child a better life by getting him/her away from us awful lesbians), but I'm trying to think on the positive side now. That said, you better believe I will be nervous the first time we leave our child, no matter who is babysitting!

  • I think Annie is going through a growth spurt, so she is just not a happy camper the last couple of days. She has developed this new whiny cry to go with it. Other than that things are going okay. I am back to work this week so it is a bit of a transition for us.

We left her with Carols mom first, then my parents, then Carols sister. I don't think I could leave her with anyone outside of family. It is nice to get away for dinner sometimes!

  • All I have to say is intermediate nursery!!!!  We left last night with her in intensive and when I called this morning she was in intermed.   Yeah Ella.  Still about the same though.  Spells about every hour but seemed to timed with the end of her feeds.  Which is probably reflux.  I hope she grows out of it soon.  Yesterday we saw on of the nicu moms at the clinic (I was there for my last bp check) and she had the baby with her.  I had just seen her the other day in the lactation room and she had her 29 weeker home.  It was so great to see.  She was such a cutie in her car seat at just under 5 lbs. They had been in the nicu for 1.5 months I like to see a light at the end of the tunnel!

I guess Ella has had her first baby sitter already since she is in the care of others when we leave her every day.  I am not sure how I will ever leave her once she is home with us.  Who knows perhaps it will be easier to leave her.  I think it will prob be one of our parents though.
