Re: Thursday Confessions...
It is too hot, too humid and all of it is making my poor feet swell. I just want to be home with my feet up, eating fruit and drinking cold water.
That's all I've got today :-)
Canon 50D, Canon 50mm f/1.4, Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8, Speedlite 430EX II
Still no sign of my missing period. I've been having a rough week, I'm in a really blah mood for no good reason. Perhaps the humidity is getting to me?
I had dinner with my best friend last night and I am so happy that she is happy and getting married and everything but I still am not too fond of her fiance. Also, I am nervy about the dress she will pick out. But she wants me to be in something different than the other 3 girls (which my crap mood has turned into she thinks I'm going to mess up her pictures if I wear the same as the 3 skinny little bridesmaids bc I'll look like a cow), so I get first choice and hopefully will end up with something ok.?
Jen and Meag, it's ridiculously hot and humid here too, I think this has seriously been the hottest summer we've had in a long time!!!
My confession: I had a job interview today. It's for a position that is being created here at the hospital for a software company that we are about to start using one of their products. My boss told me about it cause she wants someone in the job that she trusts (the company wants to hire someone from the hospital instead of outsourcing). I asked my boss what she would do and she said "go for the interview! it will never hurt to have interview experience!"
So I did. I'm very intrigued by this job and the possibilities it could have. It would be a management type position which would be HUGE for me. I feel safe and secure in my job right now and would hate to take a new job (with the economy in the shape that it is) and something happen. I doubt that would happen because all of the dr's are in love with this software and as long as that is happening, I would be good. I just keep going back and forth with it. I don't know, we shall see!!!
Megan - that is a hard choice. I guess you'll weigh everything and decide on your options if you get offered the position. I know it will turn out for the best!!! BTW, I like your new ticker. Are you still starting off on the path to running?
I confess my house is a tornado... We've just been so busy that I don't get home until 8 or 9 at night. It's all DH and I can do to make supper, play with the dog and maybe do some laundry and relax. I MUST do dishes tonight. (I can't wait until we get our new dishwasher working)
I also realize that deep down, we all make time for the things that are important to us. I want cleaning to be more important, but I also love that I am running again, I love the farm, I like cooking real food (as opposed to frozen dinners and take-out) and I like time with DH and family and friends. So, I guess I make choices that leave no time for a clean house. What to do??
Lisa, I have started running again!! I've ran 3 days this week so far. I'm slowly building my endurance up and I'm up to 2.2. miles now. Last week I ran 3 days also. I plan on running as much as I can and I'm absolutely loving it!! I have such a HUGE high from it when I've completed my course and the whining voice in my head was telling me I couldn't do it but I proved it wrong (yes i have to admit I develop multiple personlaty disorder when I run between the skinny girl in my head talking and the whiny fat girl in my head, it's a constant struggle to keep her shut up!! hehe )
How many days a week are you running? I've been running on the days that I'm off from my second job. I come home from work, change IMMEDIATELY (cause if i sit down I'll become unmotivated) and go! I usually walk for about 5 minutes to warm up, do my run then walk another 5-10 minutes afterwards. If i stay on the health&fitness board (i lurk) adn on the the runnersworld website, I stay pumped all day and it totally keeps me motivated all day!!
as for the job, I know I'll make the right decision and I'm really leaning towards staying where I'm at. The hospital I work for is ranked like in the top 10 in Forbes and is always ranked high as far as the best places to work and so on. I honestly think I would probably be stupid to leave this joint
But we'll see. We are praying about it. HARD.
Megan - let us know how it all turns out. I agree that leaving a great job is never easy, and maybe the right decision will be 100% to stay where you are.
I too run 3 - 4 days a week. Some weeks I want to run everyday, but the more I read and learn, I realize it's a good way to get injured and burn out to run every day. Somedays I get a bit freaked out and figure I'm going to injure myself or do something wrong because I'm not a "serious" runner. I'm just some crazy girl who likes to run. I do try to listen to my body, evaluate how I feel, and realize when I need to push and when I need a break. I'm glad to hear things are going well for you. It seems our board has been so quiet lately.
