Once a month pay - vent :)

So, I found out today I am not getting my first paycheck until the end of September (SCREAM!)  This is now the second job in a school (in VA) I have had with this once monthly pay... does anyone else have this???  I had never even heard of such a thing until I got here.  Last year I was only an assistant and in a different district.  I was hoping teachers got paid more often... new district, no such luck!  GRRRR!  Sorry had to vent... I only budgeted to make it through August so this makes things a little interesting for my poor husband who has to support us until then.

My husband is a teacher in Orange County and his gets paid once a month on the 28th. Last summer when he started he wasn't going to get him first check till I think Sept, or even early Oct. But they gave him like an advance, and then just took like $200 out of every paycheck for the rest of the year. You may want to check in to if they do something like that.

I don't work for a school, but I get paid once a month too.  I hate it.  I'm sure it's a way for the company to cut costs since payroll is run only half as much.

I was able to get that type of advance, too, when I started teaching. I believe I got it at the beginning of September.

I only get paid 1 month at my job too.

I have never heard of that for teachers.  Everywhere I have been have options of 10 or 12 month pay and pay 2x a month.

Same here! I start work next week but don't get my first paycheck until the end of September. Ouch!
