Where to go, RE: Beach

My daughter really wants to go to the beach.  If you go to a beach in the area, where do you go?  TIA

A lot of folks go to North Ave beach.  further north, there is a large beach at the Montrose harbor.  Both are pretty popular with families.

I like Foster Ave. beach. It is big and usually not too packed.

Evanston beach is really nice.  It is not as crowded.  There is a pay beach there but I think there is a free one as well.

I goto Oak Street Beach on my lunch break in the summers. Very nice!

Gilson Beach in Wilmette is nice if you have small children.  You must pay, but there is ample parking, fairly clean bathrooms, and lots of families.  You enter the parking lot at Lake and Sheridan. If the lot is full, you can typically find street parking, too.

I like Oak Street and then further north of North Avenue around Fullerton.  Last time I was at Montrose beach it was really dirty and there was a weird sludge where the waves crashed.
