Is there a BEST OF list???

Hi Everyone,

Over here in Filthadelphia every year they put out a best of philly and surrounding areas list. You know, like, the best pediatrician, best vet, best salon, etc.

Does ABQ have something like this? I've tried googling and haven't been very successful. I want to start researching services:

OB/GYN

Primary Care Physician

Vetrinarian

Salon

Day Spa

Mechanic

Dentist

Opthamologist

Sushi Restaurant

BBQ

etc.

Or if you have any recs I will take those too! Thanks!

Re: Is there a BEST OF list???

  • The Alibi does a "Best of Burque" every year and I'm pretty sure that Albuquerque the Magazine does one too.  I'll go back and look for sites and link if I can find them.

ETA:  I linked to the Alibi's and it looks like the magazine is still taking in votes for this year's "best of."

    Below are my suggestions:

    imageRNandLovinIt:
OB/GYN - Donna Walker with Women's Specialists of NM (she's a CNP) - at Pres.

Primary Care Physician - actually looking for one myself

    Vetrinarian

Salon - I love Kevin at Salon Helena.  They were just named as the only NM salon in Elle's 100 Best Salons in the Country.

    Day Spa

    Mechanic

Dentist- actually looking for one myself

    Opthamologist

Sushi Restaurant - I dig the sushi at Asian Noodle Bar (downtown).  Actually, I love everything at that restaurant.  I also really like I Love Sushi on San Mateo and Osaka's in Rio Rancho on 528.

BBQ - Rudy's or Quarters.  We don't eat much BBQ, so there may be better out there - that's just where we go when we do.

    etc.

Or if you have any recs I will take those too! Thanks!

Damn you Nest for screwing up my siggy!

  • ABQ also has the Local IQ - http://www.local-iq.com/ - which does also does a "Best of."  IQ is more into clubs, bars, dining.

And Albuquerque The Magazine - http://www.abqthemag.com/ - has lots of "Best of" issues.  They have one issue a year just dedicated to doctor.

    Here are my recs....

Salon - Heart and Soul in Nob Hill; Studio Red in Nob Hill

Day Spa - Betty's Day Spa in teh North Valley or Sunrisa Springs up in Santa Fe

Mechanic - my neighbor ( I don't know where he actually works, but he does lots of minor repairs for us since we haven't needed anyhting major in years)

Dentist - Dr Davidson (up at Pennsylvania & Montgomery)

Opthamologist - I go to Dr Babgibgton (he and his son are optometrists).

Sushi Restaurant - Shogun (in Nob Hill) and Samurai in the  heights.  Asian Noodle Bowl is a favorite.  And I really like the lunch specials at Sushi King (downtown and west dies locations).  I think my new fave is Sumahoti/Amerasia - a sushi place on one side and dim sum on the other in Downtown.

BBQ - Powdrell's downtown.  There is a new place opening soon near Pres - the Cube - that promises to be Memphis style.
