High Risk Pregnancy Support Group in York??
Hi,
I was just diagnosed with fibroids and I am 4 wks pregnant. One fibroid is huge (10cm) and worrisome to my OB and to me.
I am wondering if anyone knows of a support group in the York, PA area for women with difficult pregnancies?
Thanks,
Emily
Re: High Risk Pregnancy Support Group in York??
Wellspan offer's a "Mommy Talk" group but not too sure what that is. You could also check out www.YorkAdamsMommies.com I know some of the mommies on there had high risk pregnancies.
Good luck!
Sorry, I don't know of any support groups. I just wanted to say I'm sorry you're worried. Having to deal with something like this while trying to be excited about your pg is really difficult.
I had several fibroids, one of which was 9cm during my last pg. Although it ended it m/c, it was NOT related to the fibroids. My OB was very worried about them and strongly believed they needed to be removed. He reffered me to RE and MFM for their opinions too. Both said that I could have a healthy pg even with the large fibroid....that the baby would push it out of the way as it grew. Ultimately, I had to have a myomectomy b/c it was preventing me from getting pg again. If this hadn't happened, we would have been ttc with the fibroid.
Who is your OB? Will s/he be sending you to MFM? Please hang in there. You can email me at beccals2 at yahoo if you have any questions or want to talk. (((hugs)))
Thank you all for your support and optimism. The one thing that really got me was the doctors giving me this heavy news, then saying "Try not to worry, the adrenaline released by stress is bad for the pregnancy" What?? Right. I will definitely look into MFM. I'm getting tons of mixed signals, but it is good to hear the optimistic stories. Thank you so much for sharing such personal stories with me to help me feel more optimistic. I need it so much.
