How was your weekend?

Let's jump this board here...

Mine was pretty low key...just the way I like it. =)

Friday: Didn't do much 'til I got a call that I was showing the house. So, I rushed around like a lunatic to clean up. The girl that came to look at it seemed interested, but don't they all? =/

Saturday: Woke up bright and early, went to the gym (while DH headed off to work), came home, took a shower and cleaned up a bit more for another showing. Went to my sis's to swim for the day and then the whole fam went to dinner.

Yesterday: Spent the day with the hubby. Went to the gym, got lunch, came home and cleaned (being the day was washed out with rain) and that's about it. Before you know it, it's Monday again...

Happy Monday all!

  • Our weekend was good and hectic!

Fri; got a mani/pedi. Went to dinner at Max Brenner's with DH. Yum!!

Sat; woke up early, packed up the car and headed to Astoria to pick up our friends, then headed to CT for our other friends wedding! Had time to relax at the hotel...and the room was awesome and huge! Then met our friend, the groom, for lunch with other friends. Headed back to the hotel and DH and the guys went to the groom's room for scotch and pictures. Got ready and went to the wedding!! It was so nice and beautiful! The bride was *gorgeous*! And our friend didn't look too shabby in his tux either! Wink The reception hall was nice, the food was good (just a bit salty), the music was good, DH and i slow danced a few times, and then danced to fast songs but my abdomen started cramping cuz i think we danced too soon after eating! So i was pretty much out of commission for the rest of the night. Which made me a bit grumpy. And tired. And then i got even grumpier when DH took it upon himself to try to help some girl that we used to know find a ride back to her hotel with her bf!! Even the groom was trying to help them as she just sat there and watched! We ended up taking them, but had to make our other friends get a ride with someone else who was staying at the same hotel as them. I was livid! Angry Invitations for this wedding were received in June, how do you not use that time to plan ahead and get rides?! Man, i was pissed.

Sun; slept in...which means 8:30am. Tongue Tied Went down for breakfast and ran into the newlyweds hanging out with their families so we chatted. Then other friends came down for breakfast so we all hung out. I was pretty tired so i tried to lay back down after breakfast but it just wasn't happening. So we showered, packed up, checked out, picked up our friends, and headed off to Cracker Barrel for lunch!! After going out of our way for the wrong kind of Cracker Barrel, we finally found one and had a yummy lunch. Then drove home, dropped our friends off in Astoria, got to our place and drank beer while watching The Tudors. Big Smile

Oh, also, DH and his friend gave the 'speech' at the reception and DH was really nervous for it but it went really well and he even got compliments the next morning!! Big Smile

  • the weekend was too short but pretty good

friday night we ordered pizza, had a bottle of wine, and watched a mini-marathon of how i met your mother?

saturday we slept in, which was so necessary after last week! got a hairuct which i'm still not loving but what can you do. we spent most of the day shopping and running errands. made the most of our reusable coupon for gap & banana republic.?

sunday we did laundry, grocery shopping, and finally nailed down our packing list for vaca. made baked ravioli for dinner and started getting things together to pack.?

now i just need to get through 2.5 days of work . . . ?

  • Friday night, had pizza and a movie in

Saturday cleaned the house and did some errands

Sunday Slept in then went to church then came home and had a friend over to watch some chick flicks then DH and I watched a movie together.

    Big movie weekend...

  • We had a pretty good weekend - definitely a lot of eventful things!

Friday: a really close friend came over - she's watching our pup when we go out of town on wednesday so we had to show her the ropes. We ended up ordering pizza in and DH and her had beer. We broke the baby news - she was sooooo excited. hee hee - i love seeing peoples reactions!

Saturday: went to the park with the pup in the AM, working on misc. chores at home. DH & I went to marshalls & ems to get some more gear for our upcoming hiking/camping trip. made dinner at home and relaxed.

Sunday: it rained almost all day so we stayed inside a lot. We had lighting strike our building around 1 or 2pm! it was so scary/crazy!! it was the loudest boom I've ever heard!! we both jumped a mile and I screamed a little. haha. we had firetrucks within a minute or two. There was no damage, but it was still pretty crazy. We went grocery shopping, made dinner, went to the pool to swim, and then met up with a friend for drinks (cranberry juice for me).

good weekend! so glad the week is a short one for me!

  • My weekend sucked! LOL For real!

Friday: went to catch a movie, Orphan. It was very good. I highly recommend it.

Saturday: stayed at the house helping DH and his uncle as needed in DIY renos. Also cleaned around the house and cooked . Went to Target in the afternoon to return some stuff.

Sunday: rainly ole day. DH and I had a major fight about the house (again!). I don't think we are speaking to each other right now. Nothing was done except me cooking! Sad

I have a 4-day work week so I am good for now.

  • Meg-- I hate when people are oblivious about wedding things as well.

Lawby-- Sorry that you and your H are fighting.

I had a great weekend.  Interestingly eclectic.

Friday: Smithsonian in DC, happy hour near the hotel, train to Baltimore, dinner with my BIL and his GF, drinks at a gay piano bar

Sat: brunch, walk to Inner Harbor and Federal Hill, oysters and lunch, drinks and pool playing, pre-game drinks, baseball mania at Camden Yards with what appeared to be a Red Sox home game, post-game drinks

Sunday: breakfast, train back to NYC, laundry, sushi and a little TV, sleeping in my own bed for the first time a while

Today I do some last minute errands, pack and prepare for my fifth trip (yes, fifth) tomorrow to South Carolina

  • Pretty damn lazy....we went out for a friend's birthday on Friday night and ended up a a diner at 6:00am on Saturday morning....I went to bed at 6:30, the sun was up. :-)

I haven't pulled an all-nighter like that since college.  Needless to say we slept pretty much the entire weekend recovering.  There's a REASON why we don't do that anymore as we get older!

  • Mrs. Kocal, you rock!  I'm so impressed!

Friday night we watched Slumdog Millionaire on PPV, ugh! Stressful movie!

Sat -did some gardening -YEAH!!  Harvested some string beans, early tomatoes and lettuce, yum!  Then went to Muscoot Farm with Nora and a gilrfriend of mine-had much fun with the goats, chickens, pigs, etc. then back to our house to cook up the big bass that Mark caught that morning!

Sun-lazed around a bit in the morning, planning a major grocery store military operation--had all of the flyers out, my coupons, my list and then hit  both Shoprite and A&P--spent $300, saved $140!  But exhausted afterwards!  Then went with Nora and DH to Rockefeller Preserve for a hike and puddle jumping--Nora had a great time, got totally soaked, and it was a gorgeous afternoon in the park--smelled delish, all damp and fresh!

  • We had SIL & BIL in town...not my favorite.

But, we went to Governor's Island on Saturday. If you haven't been I highly recommend it! It's really pretty and felt far away from the city, despite being a 5 minute (free) ferry ride. Bring a picnic and a frisbee!

  • aaawww Karllen...I'm sorry you and the hubby are fighting. If men just did what we said, there would be none of that. =/ But, they stubborn sometimes and they need straightening out. I'm sure everything will blow over and you will make up. Good luck chica...I hope all is well soon! *Hugs*
