I'm home sick today (and yesterday) so I can finally get on here even though we're all on FB, I have some things to share with you that I'm not putting on FB yet. I miss not being able to Nest from work.
First, the exciting surprise that we got last week, Cate is going to be a big sister, my due date is her birthday. We've only told our families b/c I'm not that far along yet, but I wanted to share with you girls, so that's why I don't want to put it on FB yet.
The other major thing is that it looks like I'm going to loose my job. I really can't get into to much on the internet b/c of the project but our client's funding was rejected by the government, everyone thought that it was a shoe in, they met all the expectations that were placed upon them but politics plays a big part in this industry. My new boss is trying her hardest to find me a new job but we had over 400 people on this job in our office so there are a lot of people looking for a small number of available jobs. My only hope is that I have a skill set that not many people have. There are almost 5000 people across the country that are affected by this, when you take the client, us and all of our sub contractors. It sucks to say the least.
I hope that you are all well, I'm going to take some time and go through old posts to catch up.
Re: Hello Ladies
First of all CONGRATULATIONS! Our first second May baby.
Secondly, I hope you feel better. I've seen on FB that you haven't been feeling well.
Thirdly, I hope your extra skill set will be a plus and they can find another area for you to work in.
Finally, Yay! I'm glad you had time to post.
Hi Caro! Good to see you around - I, like Melanie, have seen that you haven't been feeling well and sending you get well thoughts.
Congratulations!! Well wishes for a happy, healthy 9 months and baby!
That's terrible about the politicking ruining the project - I hope something works out for you. I'm sure something will work out for you, though. You're a very intelligent woman and hopefully those skills will get you something!
Congrats Caro!! That's so exciting about Cate being a big sister.
I hope that you feel better and I'm sorry to hear about your job..that's horrible.
Thanks ladies. We're excited for a second, I keep asking Cate if she is going to be a good big sister and she nods her head yes, she doesn't have a clue as to what I'm saying but she nods like she knows.
Michelle, I can't believe you are 32 weeks, where the heck has time gone. Have you shared your name yet?
Oh my gosh congratualtions! That is so great!
I am so sorry about your job though I really hope you can find something else soon
Ha..I know. It's crazy how time is flying by! I have not shared the name yet but not even my Mom knows so don't feel left out. :-P You'll find out in 8 weeks or less with the rest of the world.
I think it's great that your not sharing, I just didn't know if you'd shared it and I missed the post! I'd like to keep this name a secret but I know that I won't be able to, we know our boys name, b/c we are keeping the same one from the first time around, a girls name we are between two first names we know the middle.
Congrats...Cate is going to be a big sister! How exciting for you all.
I am really sorry to hear about your job, although keep your hopes up that they'll be able to find something else for you there. I keep worrying about my job too, but there is just nothing that I can do - if it happens, it happens. Life goes on.
It's good to see you on FB (can you beleive I FINALLY joined), haha. I hope you feel better soon.
how exciting, funny thing is when i saw that you were "sick" on FB the first thing I thought was "wonder if there's a bun in the oven" haha. I bet Cate will be a wonderful big sister.
bummer about the job, we've been having an increase in projects but some are still on the fence with funding so we're trying not to get our hopes up too high on any of them. I'll be sending plenty of positive work and baby thoughts your way.
I hope you start feeling better, Caro! And that really sucks about your job...I'll keep my fingers crossed.
Congrats on the baby! That's so exciting!
