Well, the countdown has begun... I have 4 more days of freedom until my new teaching job starts. AND, I was looking at our schools website to see if my name was up there yet... and found out they moved me up to 7th grade. I am a little scared now! I have spent my time reviewing 6th grade content and now I need 7th - I don't even know which state test they take in 7th in my district haha! And, it gets better.... I am the only female in the entire 7th grade for social studies. Eek!
So, I know there are other teachers here somewhere.... when do you all go back?!
Re: Teachers
Sorry about the grade change! I can't believe they didn't tell you first!
I go back next week but the kids aren't back for another two weeks. Sigh. Goodbye summer!
I go back a week from Tuesday but I'll be in and out over the next week working on things at school.
7th grade social studies is great content wise, the SOL is very reasonable I had 100% pass rate when I taught it! The 6th grade social studies SOL is VERY difficult.
I would email your principal just to make sure there wasn't a mistake on the website.
Feel free to email me if you want

I am so jealous!
I guess I will find out Monday during orientation. I am still excited, and honestly I will probably like 7th grade content better! (is it 1865-present?) I was just way more familiar with 6th! I kinda just want to get started already!
I can't believe the principal didn't at least call you to tell you about the change. Good luck!
We go back the 17th but I am going in a little (3 days, 5 hours each day)next week to set up. I teach K so there is a lot of set up and preparation involved. I'm enjoying my last couple days off but I'm also looking forward to going back.
