I just wanted to ask you how much your utilities are running in Verde. Did they charge you a set up fee as well? I know I heard that water/sewage/garbage are all together and average about $60 a month. Is that about right for that?
Re: **062307Bride**
electric - ours is usually in the 80-90 range, but was something like 130 last time (apparently Progress Energy raised their rates). We use lights only when we need them, replaced all the light bulbs with energy efficient bulbs, keep the thermostat set on 77 in the summer...
?
WOW! I can handle that esp compared to what we pay now! Let me know if your hubby remembers what it was to turn the power on. ?Do you guys use brighthouse cable or dish network??
We used brighthouse for the first year and weren't very pleased with it - kept losing the picture on the tv and the internet wasn't all that great (we don't get great reception in the house, so we don't get to take full advantage of the expensive internet). We are in the process of switching to DirectTv for tv and Embarq for phone and internet. It was supposed to get hooked up last weekend, but Brighthouse is being a pain in the butt about disconnecting our service, so it is now supposed to happen this week. We'll see. DH should be home in about 2 hours, so I'll def. ask him about the power fees then :-)
K - DH says that there were no startup fees for electric or water, but Brighthouse did charge the $50 installation fee (that must've been what I was thinking of). If you have bad credit, the electric company required a $500 deposit (which they hold for 6-8 months). I'm not sure if this has changed or anything - we didn't have to do it, so I'm not sure.
As far as the water bill goes, the total (the 2 combined) is usually around $90. The sewer and trash pickup is included with that. It's just the two of us, we run the dishwasher every other day, probably, and have low-flow shower heads to help conserve water.
Hope that helps Let me know if there's anything else I can help with!
