Tennessee DUI Laws
Hi Ladies,
I'm from Southern California, but I had a question for you. What can you tell me about DUIs in Tennessee? My little sister (who previously had a clean driving/criminal record) got drunk last night, sped, rolled her car and hit a tree. She's amazingly ok with only a few scrapes and bruises, apparently the car is totalled and it really looks like whomever was in the crash should be dead. Thank goodness she's fine and that she didn't hurt anyone else.
So I know in California she would have spent the night in jail and would have immediately lost her license. Neither happened. Her now-ex boyfriend (he moved out today... this was the straw that broke the camel's back, long story) said that she'd probably only get a fine, traffic school, and have to go to some MADD meetings. Does anyone have any experience with this, either yourselves or through friends and family? I want to know what we can expect.
