You replied to a post of mine about possibly mosing to AIken. I just wanted ot let you know that we visited Aiken recently and loved it! You were definitely right about the downtown area. We also went to some boat races in Augusta. I can also see what you meant about living in town rather than the more rural areas. We had a lot of fun and hopefully will be moving there soon. DH is hoping to hear from them by next week.
Re: *SCTiger*
I live in Warrenville (Aiken County) and am fifteen minutes from downtown Aiken.
I pretty much grew up in Aiken, too. So if y'all have any questions, let me know.
I am sure as the time gets closer to possibly move I will have a ton of questions!
Actually, I thought of one already. I will be a new RN when I get down there, so would you happen to know how the job market is for new nurses in the area. I know SCTiger told me that there are several good hospitals in the area. I am just so worried about finding a job when the time comes.
Aiken Regional generally take USCAiken gradutes, but definitely apply there. Aiken Regional has been expanding lately.
Across the river, there is the Medical College of Georgia, University Hospital, and Trinity Hospital. These are fairly easy to get to, esp. if you live in North Augusta (Aiken County) 15 minute, the Valley area 20-25, and the city of Aiken (30-40min commute).
