Apartments in Fern Creek/J-town?

I'm sure you all are getting tired of my moving questions! Since finding a house that is pet friendly and a reasonable price is proving to much more difficult that we thought we are considering a 3br apt or town house. It will be tight in there with a 1yo and 75lb lab, but hopefully we can deal with it knowing that we will be saving some $$. It seems there are only 4 listings for apts in Fern Creek - surely there are more out there! Can anyone rec apts in either Fern Creek or the southwest end of j-town? We really need to take a trip to KY. It's so difficult just looking on line!

no problem.  i'm sure we wish we could help you more, but i for one am not that familiar w/ that area.  have you tried mynewplace.com?  put in zip code 40299 and a map pulls up w/ locations in the area you're interested in.  or there's forrent.com - here they have pics of complexes.  Glenmary is a nice area.  good luck!

I used to live in the J-town area at Fenwick Place Apartments.  They are at the corner of Hurstbourne and Six Mile.  They are pet-friendly; the guy that lived above me had a German Shepherd.  I'm not sure if they had three BR apartments though.  Rent was not outrageous.  I liked the apartment because it didn't feel like an apartment.  It was very open and had a lot of light. 

I lived there from July '01 - December '03, so the pet policy and name, for that matter, may have changed since then.  Good luck!

I don't know how big they are, but Pinehurst Apartments are an option. It sounds like you have already come across Glenmary Village, but there is also Cooper Creek Village, which is really nice as well. I don't really know of any others in the Fern Creek area. Sorry I can't be more helpful!

Sorry girl I can't help you. I live in the South End (Valley Station) so I'm not too familiar with the area. We looked there for a house but couldnt find the right amount of house for our price point so we are in the other end of town. Did you look at apartments.com, apartmentguide.com or forrent.com? I found the one apartments I lived in on apartments.com. It might help!

There are new apartments built in Fern creek right at the gene snyder maybe two years old-very nice...

Any reason you don't want to buy? In both areas you can buy for as cheap as you rent!

We are looking to rent for a year then find a neighborhood and school district that we really like. We are looking at houses and apartments to rent. We thought maybe an apt would be cheaper than a house, but realistically with a 1yo and a 75lb lab we really need the space and yard of a house. We are moving from Salisbury, NC so its hard to get a feel for a neighborhood I'd be comfortable committing to over the internet. We are planning a trip there in the next few weeks to talk to RE agents, daycares and jobs for me so after that I think this whole process will be easier!
