long distance

Hey I need some help ladies.  My husband has been trying for a month to find a full time job here in Mt. Pleasant but has been unsuccessful.  I am taking classes so he is the bread winner.  He was offered a full time job up north in Charlevoix (our hometown) and he is considering it.  Do you think he should take the full time job up north or take a part time one here in Mt. Pleasant.  Yes we are discussing this but I thought some outside thoughts might make this easier.  Thanks a bunch ladies!

Re: long distance

  • There are a lot of factors that we don't know about your situation so it would be hard for us to give you any advice. Like, would you be staying in Mt. Pleasant? Are you full time at CMU? Do you guys own a house it Mt. P? Those sort of things... I don't know if some girls on the internet can give you much advice on a huge decision like this. lol  Although, if you really want us to help you then you'll have to give us more info. :)

  • How much longer would you be taking classes? Can you drive to Charlevoix on weekends? In this economy, I'd say take it and you can take a few extra classes here and there to finish school sooner. It might be tough, but if he waits will he find another job? Why not try it out and if it really doesn't work he can find something else, but better to say "I tried."

  • Can you guys move to Charlevoix and you transfer schools? It's hard to really say without knowing what he does and how the job market is. If jobs are hard to come by for him, he really should take it.
  • What degree program are you in?  I used to live in Gaylord and know that they now have the university center.....not sure if they have the classes you need.  I also graduated from CMU and took classes throuhg the Lansing Center.  I know that there are a wide range of classes online and self instructional.  I would consider that as an option for you to finish up.
