8/7

So, since I'm in a super creative mood this morning....

What are your weekend plans??

We're picking up some furniture that I bought on craigslist and then touring the Thomas Creek brewery as H wants to start making beer and they sell a start up kit.  We also might take the dog swimming (despite the fact that he's not a huge fan of it..... yet!)

Re: 8/7

  • Hey Lauren, don't forget to ask where they got their curtains!!!! :-D  If you don't mind of course haha.

We don't have big plans for the weekend, we're going to clean for sure, and then tomorrow we may go to the 24 hour play festival : http://www.greenvillelittletheatre.org/studio-444-24-hour-play-festival  And no, it's not 24 hours of plays, it's a play that was written, memorized, rehearsed, and presented in 24 hours.

  • We just moved here- so unpacking and organizing, hopefully. We should take advantage of the tax free weekend and buy a few big ticket items. We need a washer/dryer, a desk/shelves, and patio furniture.

Dh and I plan on going shopping sometime this weekend to take advantage of the tax free weekend -- I need new work pants lol.

Then I have plans to go to the pool with some girls from work Saturday morning. And DH and I are doinga couples dinner with work people Sat. evening.

I just read the actual state law that Lauren posted and it says it excludes furniture.  This is just a heads-up, I know NOTHING about the tax free weekend, this is only my second year in SC during this weekend, but I just thought you may wan to look the law over really quick so you're not caught off guard when you go furniture shopping.  Maybe it's ok for certain kinds of furniture though.

I think that some stores offer the same no tax discount as a promotion.  This might be where she got it from...

  • I will be sending my in-laws back home to Ohio :) They have been here for two weeks, and are leaving on Sunday. They've been a huge help as we try to get settled in our house, but I can not wait for them to leave...I just want to sit on the couch with my husband and not have to talk to someone! Even Lauren thinks my MIL is intense ;) (which, btw, totally made my day!!)

So one more day of craziness, and then DH's birthday is Sunday. We'll probably just try to relax with the dogs, nothing big planned!

  • Dh is itching to see a movie in the theater. I have no idea why and he does not have a movie in mind. He really wants to go tonight but we have a dog with seperation anxiety who is okay if outside but with the being in the night he would freak out in the dark can't blame him. So maybe tomorrow afternoon we will see a movie.

We also need to do some deep cleaning. Being pregnant I can only do a bit here and there before having to run the the bathroom. I very tempted to hire a housekeeper for a bit. That is all on our list so far.

    Bwuhahaha.

I thought that you were offended and that's why you didn't respond. :)

  • Yay!  Weekend plans!

My Saturday plans are my usual...running the Scuffletown Dancin' Barn thing.

Sunday is my one year anniversary.  We're planning on going to the Melting Pot for our anniversary dinner.  However, my hubby did a special surprise anniversary dinner for me tonight.  I came home from class and he had made me crab cakes and almond crusted tilapia.  There were candles lit and I had a glass of wine.  Then he gave me one of my anniversary presents early...a pair of silver heartshaped diamond earrings.

    Happy anni!

MrsZ, happy shopping! :) We're not getting all those things this weekend- just looking around to see what discounts and promotions are best for the 1 big ticket item :) I think the washer/dryer will have to wait until labor day weekend sales.

  • We had a party in our neighborhood yesterday where everyone brought a dish, which was really fun!  That was pretty much it for the weekend.  Just relaxing, doing "normal" weekend stuff otherwise.

  • We just got back from being in Amelia Island (FL) with DH's family!  It was a lot of fun.  My legs got a bit sunburned from kayaking yesterday though.  I wasn't good about putting enough on a reapplying.
