Another recommendation - Alterations?

Hey ladies.. I live in Winter Park and I need a hem on a bridesmaid dress. For my last bm dress, I went somewhere and they charged $30. It seems a bit high - am I wrong? Any recommendation for me? :)

Thank you!!!

Re: Another recommendation - Alterations?

  • That's probably about right.  Depends on the width of the hem, and if there was a lining, and what kind of material it was.  Also, I go to Rosa's Alterations in Baldwin Park.  I like their work, and their prices are fair.
  • I go to Lynn's Fashions on Colonial. You can take the dress in there and she'll tell you how much it will cost. http://orlando.citysearch.com/profile/2380419/orlando_fl/lynn_fashion_bridal.html#profileTab-reviews

  • Ann's Tailors in Altamonte is good.  I have been there twice, I don't remember the cost, but I don't think it was over the top.  They are in the same plaza w/the Michael's and Chili's.

  • Tina's Tailor in Winter Park off 17-92. She does a great job and is very reasonable. They are between Fairbanks and Orange Ave on 17-92.
  • I always use Luanne at Modern Bridal shop on Colonial Dr. They do a great job and I've recommended a lot of people there. I would think $20 would be the cost but $30 doesn't sound out of the question.
  • I agree with pp on Rosa's Alterations in Baldwin.  Very reasonable!  They took in (side seams) two dresses for my daughter - $25 for BOTH!  They used to be in College Park, but moved to Baldwin - sad for us, but we make the drive over there - totally worth it!
  • Thank you... this is very helpful! I'm sure to find a good one amongst this list :)
