Weekend Excitement?

Hi everyone,

Just thought I would post and see what everyone did this weekend!  I didn't do anything too exciting - just getting ready to start my new job tomorrow (eek!)  It has now been confirmed that I got moved to 7th   But, I am excited to start regardless!  Anyone do anything fun?!

Good luck on your first day. This weekend has been great. Well, to start it off I got a job! My parents are here visiting our new home. We have started a garden in the back but now it is way to HOT to do anything until the late afternoon. I can't wait to get some plants. We are heading out to celebrate my new job at the Blue Talon and have to go get some french food after seeing Julia and Julie.

We painted our dining room and the color turned out great!  We picked 2 grays I really like the way they look.  Then we started changing out our outlets and switchplates from beige to white.  Our house is slowly moving away from being stuck in the 1980s.

Spent most of the weekend in Sandston/Richmond.  Maymont Park, Bottom's Up Pizza, City Diner? It is was way too hot to do anything in the afternoon that didn't have A/C though Hah!  And yesterday evening my DD and I said good-bye to my husband as he begins his 12 mos. deployment.

Let the military adventure begin.

We didn't do much this weekend went out on our friend's boat in Bath County which was fun.

I got some great deals Friday at the outlets in Williamsburg.  Then Saturday I did some shopping around here and watched UFC 101 at our neighbor's house.  Sunday I relaxed a lot and finished painting our kitchen cabinets.

We had friends over and had a cookout on Saturday.  Sunday I went to the watermelon festival in Carytown with a friend and then hit the pool after.

oh snap! I was in Richmond Saturday and Sunday, saw the watermelon flags waving around outside the fan and wondered if it was Watermelon Festival time; soooo sorry I didn't follow that instinct - I haven't been to the WF in about 8 years!!!

I can only imagine how hard that must have been.

My H's best friend and his wife came to visit with their new puppy.  It was a great, but tiring weekend!

Too bad - It was awesome as always.  I think my son ate his weight in watermelon though.  He had a great time - it was his first year!  Remember for next year that it is always the second weekend in August.
