DH and i went to Old Saybrook for our 'mini moon' last Sept!! We stayed at this place though:
http://www.econolodgeoldsaybrook.com/ - it was alright but i wasn't too impressed. But we had a jacuzzi tub *IN* our room (not the bathroom), so i can't complain with that!! 
We did the casinos, Mystic, outlet shopping and a ton of eating! It was really nice!
The place you stayed at looks amazing! I'll have to bookmark it.
