Vacations 2008

Just because I'm curious...what's everyone doing for vacation this year? 

 

Who's staying in town and doing Saint Louis stuff? 

Who's going out of town for mini weekend trips?

Who's going on a longer vacation perhaps somewhere cool to share with the rest of us?

We were going to go to Colorado to visit family.  With gas prices so high we are staying in MO.  Part of the Colorado trip was for my Dh to show off his new toy(Jeep).  His brother is really into 4 wheeling so he has to drive the jeep when we go.  Since it only gets 13 miles to the gallon, its not going to happen.   We are going camping for a week on the Jacks Fork.  Then we will do the usual Zoo, Six Flags, etc.

We leave 1 week from today on vacation!  I cannot wait!

Even with gas prices, we're driving.  We figured with the time it takes to fly that driving would be just as good.

Anyway, DH has a friend that lives in the Maryland area so we're going up to see him and his wife and their adorable baby.  They aren't far from lots of stuff so we're going to go into Philly, we're going to the beach for a few days, and then who knows what else.  Probably just chillin because thats exactly what we need right now!  R & R

We may take a weekend trip to Chicago around my birthday (August) but may opt not to.

But thats all we have planned.  We'll probably take some day trips downtown to do some stuff.

I was really trying to talk DH into going to either Colorado, Michigan or Wisconsin (I have a friend who will be moving to Wis. as a minister this summer), but gas prices shot that to heck!

 We are now going to spend a week at Bennett Spring with his family.  At least it's a little time away from home!

Will and I are going to Myrtle Beach around 4th of July with my family.  DH has several reasons for not going with us.  None that I find valid.    Oh well!  The only reason I'm going with gas prices this high is that my cousin's husband's parents own a new beach house (5 bedroom with an elevator!!!) and we're staying for free.  So it's my airfare, taxes on airfare for Will, food (get groceries mainly), and some spending money.  I plan on spending most of the time either on the beach or relaxing.

We are going to Jamaica in July for a week. We are really looking forward to it; however, it seems like we always have to cancel trips for one reason or another, so I'll be more excited about a week before we go since it will be more definite that we are going. This will probably be our last vacation for awhile b/c we will probably start TTC soon after.

Surprisingly we've got a lot on the books for this year.

Lake with some friends next weekend. It's our big chill weekend...gets us ready for summer.

Baltimore in August

Florida in September

Grand Cayman in October

Mexico in December

 Some of the trips will be with Parker (our 4 month old son) and some won't be.

We have actually already been a a couple. In January we went to Florida, Chloe and I went to Florida in April, we have been to the lake 4 time already this year, and currently Dave is in Canada for a guys only fishing trip. We still have some to look forward too as well but mostly at the lake.

 Does this count, we will have a vacation from Chloe in July because she is going to Florida with her grandma and grandpa. I think that counts as a vacation, don't you..hehe.
