Romantic restaurants on the Plaza?

I am an Iowa nestie just stopping by here for a little advice from the KC ladies! Smile DH and I are headed to the Plaza this weekend for a little getaway (only our second time EVER away from our 2 1/2 yr old, so we are pretty excited! ) We are looking for a place to have dinner on Sat pm. I am hoping to find something with a nice, romantic atmosphere, good food, but nothing extravagantly expensive. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Re: Romantic restaurants on the Plaza?

    Try:

    Capital Grille
    Classic Cup
    Figlio
    Melting Pot
    Plaza III
    Ruth Chris
    Starker's Reserve

You can get to all of their websites from the website above. I would definitely call and try to make reservations where ever you go.

    GL and have fun!

  • Cheesecake factor is another good resteraunt to add.

just on a side note but you might want to try and make reservations to make your dinning experience smoother.

  • I wouldn't necessarily consider Cheesecake Factory romantic - it's way too overrun with children & families most of the time and they're big on turning tables in that location, so you'd probably feel rushed. I'd stick with places like Capital Grille or Classic Cup - both are known for fantastic food and fantastic service.
  • Chaz restaurant and lounge is in the Raphael Hotel, its really great and has a very romantic vibe to it as well.
  • We went to Capital Grille for our 5th anniversary recently and LOVED it. ?Spent $125 (including tax) on an app, two steak dinners, and dessert. ?DH had a glass of wine and I had a mocktail (fake drink as I'm pregnant). ?We were very impressed with the service and attention to detail. DH made a reservation ahead of time and told them it was our anniversary. ?They had two roses on the table and I think we got our dessert free. ?Also, the manager called us the following Monday to see how everything went. ?Will definitely go back.
