Furniture

My husband and I recently purchased a home and are in need of some living room furniture.  We visited Ashley Furniture, but really didn't fall in love with anything they had.  We've also been to Macy's in the Rolling Oaks Mall.  Can anyone suggest other furniture stores we could visit in the San Antonio area?  We are new to Texas and still getting familiar with the area.  Thanks!  Smile

Re: Furniture

  • There are several furniture stores along I-10 between 1604 and 410 - Star Furniture, Haverty's, Room Store, Bassett, etc.  Also, we've had some luck at the North Carolina Furniture Direct store in San Marcos (near the outlet malls).  We've recently purchased an entertainment wall and a dining set for our breakfast area from there.  They deliver to San Antonio.  Good luck!

  • You could also check the department stores at North Star Mall - another Macy's, Dillards, and JC Penney.

  • I've always been a fan of Stower's behind North Star Mall.

Louis Shanks has beautiful stuff but can be very $$$$. I actually found some chairs there and ordered them from basista.com for half the price! No tax and shipping was included. I was thrilled!

  • The only other stores I can think of are Rooms to Go on 410, Motif in the Stone Oak shopping center (really modern furniture) and Ethan Allen. Oh, and Hill Country Interiors (something to that effect) on 1604.

  • I got my dining room table at Lacks- Bandera and 1604 (they have multiple locations).

I got my entertainment center and coffee/end tables at Bassett
and my bedroom set at Star Furniture both on the I10 access road past DeZavala.

  • Thanks, ladies!  I really appreciate all of the suggestions!
