Re: PCP/TTC/ATP Wednesday

  • I had my 12w appt yesterday, and while everything else looked good, I'm down 3 lbs which my doc was not too happy about. So now she wants me drinking Ensure to replace what I'm not getting at meals, and I have to go back in 2 weeks for a weight check.

If I've lost any more than she'll be putting me on anti-nausea meds, although my fingers are crossed that I'll be feeling better by then!! In the meantime, I got myself some "sea bands" to try and help control the nausea.

On a nicer note, we got to hear the baby's heartbeat, and she had no trouble finding it. Smile

  • We're just chugging along...taking prenatals, DHA, charting, talking, sticking to our budget and just generally enjoying life!

Meegs: Hearing the heartbeat must have been so cool! Yay!

  • Meegs - sorry about the m/s :-(  Glad you got to hear the heartbeat again!

Update: As I posted on LGBT this morning, K is telling my parents tonight! I'm nervous and excited. I'm feeling okay but not great.

  • Meegs - try some gingersnaps for the naseua. I would get the really hard ones and break them into bits and suck on the pieces. Worked better than ginger ale.

Two - Are you going to be on the phone when she tells them? I wish you could be there in person.

Things are going okay here. Annie gets bigger every day. I wish I could stop the clock for a while and just get to enjoy her as she is, but she changes so fast.

Yes. They are going to call me when they are opening their "anniversary gifts." So I'll get to hear their reaction and K is going to try to snap some pictures too.  I'm feeling much better about it now than I was a few weeks ago.

  • I feel like I've missed so much on the board this week while I was away camping and then at a really long birth.

We're still hoping to start with my end of Sept (CD1)/early October (insem) for cycle number one. I'm taking prenatals, tons of supplements, TCM herbs, acupuncture twice a month, drinking lots of water, green smoothies, good food, walking/exercise and charting. Next month I think we're going to add the microscope (which I tried a few months ago but have since forgotten about) and perhaps checking cervix visually to the charting repertoire. I'm excited for the SSH Nestie baby boom including those that have their babies, are pregnant, are starting soon and are getting everything in order to start on their time lines!

  • Kids are still cute Wink and are still generally really good kids Angel.  A friend of ours came over last night and her child was so whiny and emotional that it made L and I all the more thankful for our mostly even tempered/non-whiny kids (we do not put up with whining. It drives us NUTS.)

I am so excited for everyone on here! I can't wait for more people to join the ranks of Mommyhood! :)

  • We are happily waiting for our next ultrasound appointment, which is tomorrow at 7am (yikes, we're going to have to get up at 4:45 to make it there on time!). This is our originally scheduled 2nd u/s with the RE. We asked if we had to cancel it because we came in for the extra one, but the nurse said it was fine to keep it, so of course we did!

I am really hoping we get some measurements this visit. We haven't gotten any yet. I want some data! I'd like to know how the babies are measuring and what their heart rates are (if he can tell).

I'm also hoping to ask all those questions I forgot to ask at the first appointment because I was so caught off guard by the possibility of two. I should make a list tonight...

finally blogging again at This Will Be: An Adventure
  • It is so great to hear all the updates. I am so excited for those of you who are so recently pregnant.  We remain in a wait with plans to not test.
  • It's so much fun to get updates on everyone's pregnancies espeically since it has been so hard to get on the computer lately (mine is broken and W has been working a lot) and I am so out of the loop.

Maggie is great.  She started crawling this week!  More work for me but really cute.  A few weeks ago she began to be able to put herself in a sitting position.  She is also saying lots of sylables and says hi back  when we say it to her.  The other day the Verizon guy came to fix our phone and he had been there a while and as he was walking out she starting to say dadadadadada.  He responded, "please kid, I've got enough problems!"  It was a really funny moment.  Otherwise we are working on gentle sleep training to disassociate the breast from falling asleep.  The first night it seemed to work great... last night, not so great.  We'll see...

  • right now we're focusing on trying to get the house ready. the bathroom is pretty much done (just minor things like putting up the toilet paper and towel holders and some touch-up paint). we're going to be painting our bedroom and rearranging the furniture in there, and we're hoping to have it ready and just paint both rooms in one weekend. she really wanted the bedroom to be ready for painting this weekend, and i'm guessing it will be by the end of the weekend but not paintable during. we'll see. we still need to decide on a shade for the nursery anyway, although we do have the colors for the bedroom picked out.

we also really need to start registering for things. i went today and started an online registry for the bedding we like because her best friend called and was asking questions about it for the shower she's hosting in her hometown. other than that, though, we've got a few random things at another store but not many. i'm hoping we can at least sit down and talk this weekend about what we want to look at, if not head over to one of the stores and get going.

i can't believe we're almost to the third trimester! eek!

  • i love hearing all the updates too :)
