I'm moving to the fox cities, too! HELP!
So DH just got an offer in the fox valley area and now I have soooo much to do. We'll be relocating from Platteville. He'll likely head up before me because by the time I leave I need to find a job, daycare, an apartment/condo, sell or rent our house, and finish my MBA. So here are a few questions to start:
- Do you know of any nice apartments/townhomes/condos that allow small dogs? We're hoping to keep rent around $600 and hopefully include heat. We'd need at least a 2 bedroom. Probably Neenah or Menasha but out of college district at the very least.
- Do you know of any good daycares for an almost 2 y.o.?
- What is the average cost per week for daycare in the area?
- What else can you tell me about the area that a new transplant would need to know?
Thanks, everyone, for your help!

Re: I'm moving to the fox cities, too! HELP!
I can't help at all with the day care. I can only say when our friends relocated, they needed a 2BD minimum in the Fox Valley area (had to be close to the highways), and must be able to have a small dog. They had a tough time even within their price range of under $900.
This MAY have been one of the places we looked at (can't tell for sure): http://tinyurl.com/5cp84e that we thought was nice, but our friends did NOT want apartment living.
Your best bet is to check StartRenting.com or www.postcrescent.com (which is apartments.com but is the local paper.)
GL!
We have a friend who owns a 4-plex in Neenah (and allows small dogs) but I'm not sure if he has any availability. If not, he might be able to direct you to someone in the area who does , since I know that he's on the Landlord's Association Committee or something.
Another plus, he just moved to the area from Platteville about 2-3 years ago

We just bought a house in Neenah .. looking forward to a GTG this summer once we're all settled. When do you see yourself "landing" in the Fox Cities??

How are things comign regarding your move to the Fox Cities?
My friend does have an apartment opening in mid/late summer if you are having trouble finding places ...
neenah : favorite restaurants (so far, in my 3 weeks here..) Cranky Pats has great pizza. the maui wowie .. yum. i was surprised! CY's asian bistro is better food (a little fancier than pizza, obviously) and the food was great and fresh asian cuisine .. very small place though, not for huge groups
looking forward to meeting you when you get here!
