  • I'm wonderful :)

I have a beautiful 5.5 month old son (see picture below) and he is just amazing! You can check out the blog for updates on what we've been up to.

He went to his first Padres game this weekend and loved having his own seat. We just draped the blanket over the chair, sat him down and placed his toys around him. He had a blast!

And we went to Sushi on Tuesday night with BIL & SIL and SIL's parents and he did sooo good! He sat in the high chair and played with his toys. DH fed him some avocado from my california roll and he loved it.

My 2.5 year old nephew tried every roll we had (pieces of the fish) and loved everything :) I can't wait to have E try all the fun stuff. I really want him to have a diverse palate (unlike myself and DH when we were young).

    How are you and DH??

  • Dani-

Your son is too adorable. I am happy things worked out for you. Well as for me and DH we are now officially TTC and hoping to have some good news here soon.

Looks like GTG might be turning into Mommy and Me parties! I love seeing pics of all these new cutties. Looks like there are some more on the way! Yeah!!!!

  • Hi there!!! We moved to St. Louis (we now live in the burbs) last year Sad, I started a job here but the company wasn't that great, so I switched jobs about a month and a half ago to a bigger and better company.

We built our house and moved in in the middle of March (photos in blog).  And I LOVE working on the house... even mowing the lawn!!! I've been looking at and buying furniture and decorating Smile.  Our 2 dogs also love running around the house, specially fetching a tennis ball inside.

We still don't have a set date to start TTC, but most likely it'll happen sometime next year (and it seems like we're the only ones that aren't even trying yet!!! Tongue Tied).

  • Melissa! GL w/ TTC- keep us posted. A lot of us had our 1st or currently knocked up. Yay for future playdates...

Charlie is 6mths, he's a funny little boy. He looks different from the pictures I emailed you a couple mths back.  As you know, we're in PA for one year & back home to SD next year. We took a family vacation to Maui before the big move- it was much needed. My boy has already been on 8 flights! My days are filled w/ gymboree, music class and if I'm lucky we get a date night once a week.

Kimarino- congrats!! Just saw Dani's post! Are you going to find out the sex? I miss those knot days, it was my daily read & your post/responses were ALWAYS the funniest.

  • Funny, isn't it?

Well, my Dh and I are pretty set on moving to Oregon by next summer at the latest, so we're sort of focusing on that. I'm casually looking at jobs up there, and crossing my fingers.

Dani-You're son is so cute! Love that picture!

  • oh sh**t!!! i just saw twins on your timeline thing- DOUBLE CONGRATS!!!
  • Looks like everyone in San Diego is up to the same thing :-)  Congrats on everyone's babies/pregnancies/happy thoughts for TTC!!
  • I don't know if anyone remembers me or not.  I have only been to one get together.  It was for book club at Dani's house.

Anyways, Thought I would share about the TTC thing since it seems to be the topic.  Big Smile  We have been trying for a year now with not much luck.  I have not been worried about it because I keep thinking it will just happen when it does and I should not get stressed out about it.  Now I'm getting a little worried and will probably start thinking about going to see the doctor about it.

  • I remember you ses! Sorry about the TTTC it may be worth going and seeing the doctor about it. Maybe it's something simple that can be fixed easily? You never know. Good to see you back on :)

  • Hi ladies! It's really good to see everyone back on. I'm doing well. Just had our little baby girl 2 months ago so I am still on maternity leave and really enjoying it. I go back to work in Sept.

  • ANNIE, you're preggers too!  Congrats sweetie!  You're right Melissa, we might be having Mommy & Me GTGs soon :)

I am doing great.  My photog business has certainly taken off and I'm hoping to take it to the next level in January, after our baby girl makes her appearance and I get settled into that routine.  Isabelle starts Kindergarten on Monday and I'm so sad.  I will miss spending time with my little buddy all day, and I hope she makes friends with good kids who have great parents.  I am due on November 7th and this has been one heck of a preganancy (I don't recommend being pregnant at 39...I'm feeling all 39 of those years with this pregnancy, LOL).  We're loving our new (or not so new anymore) house that we bought last June and are getting ready to convert 1/2 our garage to an office for me so baby girl can take the 3rd bedroom in November.

Good luck to all you ladies TTC!!!  Ses, since you've been trying for almost a year you might want to talk with your OBGYN.  Just so they can check everything.

Pilar & Janelle, I miss you both terribly!  I dragged Denielle to Nordies Cafe yesterday because I needed a fix.  I ate the tomato basil soup in your honor :)

  • I agree, ses.  Not sure if you need a referral, but I would go to a Reproductive Endcrinologist (RE) since you have been trying a year.  They are way more helpful than OBGYNs!  GL!

  • Hi ladies!!!  Everyone on my end is going great.  We are all settled into the house we bought back in October.  I can't believe it has almost been one year already.  We are waiting another few years before we have a little one.
  • Mmm Nordies Cafe.  I may just NEED that next week for lunch now that you put it in my head haha.

I know I missed pretty much everything you guys have done in the last two years but maybe once I tell my work they will stop making me travel so much and I can actually enjoy being in San Diego (and my hubby and little one eventually)!

I hope you all have a great weekend!!

  • Thanks for the responses guys.  I am going to talk to my doctor and see if she can refer me to a specialist.

I would love a recommendation.  Thanks!

  • Guess I'll come out of hiding now too. Smile

Not too much big going on for us right now. We're celebrating one year this Sunday, so that's probably the biggest thing for us right now. We've started TTC without actually trying and we'll see what happens. And we're looking at buying a house before the end of November with the rest of the first time homebuyers out there. (I guess that's more going on than I thought!)

Dani - I love blog stalking you and watching Ethan grow up.

  • Thanks ladies...

Babies are so much fun! I can't believe how many of us are TTC, pregnant or already have babies. I guess that's what sometimes comes after marriage, right?

SES... totally remember you. Glad to "see" you on here. I'll keep you in my thoughs and prayers for some answers re TTC :)

  • It's so good to get updates from everyone!  Good luck to everyone TTC and congrats to all the pregnant ladies!!

Things are good-ish over here.  I've had some huge events happen lately that are forcing some changes in my & the husband's lives.  BUT...overall everything's positive.  I'm working and also meeting with clients as an MFT Trainee (working on getting my intern number and getting paid for it).  We're coming up on 2 years of marriage and things are still great.  :D  But of course, since my career stuff is in flux, we won't be trying for babies any time soon.

Part of this whole readjustment I'm going through will have me focusing on my own businesses (makeup, landscape photography), so I may bug the business owners on here or at GTGs for tips  Like I said, all good changes in the end.  And yay for married life and the group we've formed!

  • I'm a little late responding to this thread, but I've been fairly absent from the board lately.  I just finished up my contract and I'm now out of the Marine Corps.  I'm working in finance and really focusing on building my business and gaining clients.  It's a tough industry, especially during this time period, but I'm excited about my future in this career.

Other than that, my husband reenlisted and has at least another 3 years as a Marine before we make any further big decisions.

  • Hi everyone :)
I don't post much over here anymore (or on any other Nest boards, really) but I've been a SD Nestie since April 2005. Noticed everyone else coming out and figured I'd jump on the bandwagon :)

Not much going on.. just getting ready to go back to work on Monday. I'm looking forward to it, though! DH lost his job in March (his whole department was cut :() and the charter school I was working at the last 4+ years closed at the end of the school year. Bit of a scary/stressful summer hoping I'd get something else... not the greatest time to be looking for a teaching job! Anyway, got my old job back at a new school so that was a huge sigh of relief!
Now to get DH hired somewhere! :) Anyone know any companies that are looking for a very experienced software engineer? :) Can't hurt to ask, right?

Hope everyone is doing well. I remember meeting lots of you at book club and the winery thing a long time ago!

Best of luck to those of you who are TTC and congrats to those who have new babies or babies on the way! :)
