After only 2 years. Booooo. I looked up reviews of it now (2 years after I bought it -- SMART!) and it is universally pretty terrible. My bad for being a "Westinghouse." I'm in the market for a flat screen, 26"-ish, around $400ish. Just curious if you have any horror stories (mine you'd have to put the volume up to 100 and it was still somewhat quiet) or raves. Also, seems Walmart has the best prices, but I've never bought ANYTHING from there nevermind electronics. Stay away from there? Thankssss.

I actually read a study for my marketing class a few weeks ago that Wal-Mart actually is the new leader in electronics (based on their ability to negotiate lower prices by selling in huge volume)..Amazing to think they beat out Costco and electronics stores
That said I love my Magnavox from Best Buy (bought about 3 years ago)...
I don't doubt they have very competitive prices, but they have them for a reason. which is one of the many reasons why I won't shop there.
I work for a manufacturer that sells to Wal-Mart, and in actuality they have much higher social responsibility/compliance standards than other large retailers that we deal with (Target, Costco, etc)
Kind of interesting. I get why people hate WM, but as a manufacturer, they have totally set the bar for testing & social standards.
dammit, I'll have to find a new reason to not shop there.
can I say it always seems dirty and their employees are totally not helpful?
Nabum, interesting.
I've bought online before, and the tv is fine (it's an Olevia). My dad has a few LCDs and a plasma that he bought online and he has had them forever and they are all fine too.
I would personally be ok with going to Walmart or Costco.
this is totally the reason why I hate WM.
Have you seen the Wal-Mart Bingo? Funny stuff.
It *is* always dirty and unorganized. I would rather pay slightly more for a better shopping experience. However, on a big-ticket item like television I would make an exception to save some $$$.
I had to return something there a few months ago (MH bought it, not me!). I was the next person up, there were two girls at the register. one girl finished with her customer, looks at me, and says, "I'll be right back." ugh, fine, whatever. in the meantime, the other register lady is taking her sweet.ass.time. and there are now 7 people behind me. the first register girl comes back, with a coffee from McD's in her hand, looks at the long line and says, "oops."
We got our at Sears on sale. Its a Sony, bigger than you probably want but a good place to check out. I have heard bad things about Visios which Costco sells a lot of.
