Re: Eagles take Vick

  • I'm glad that someone signed him. He did his time, he's been released back into society, just let the man do the only job he's ever done.  I really hope he is allowed to play this season. I get the sense that he feels genuine remorse for what he did. If not, bravo, he's a good actor. It's just unfortunate that other convicted criminals have such a hard time finding work after being released from prison.
  • After thinking about it for awhile last night, he seems that he would fit well in the Eagles system. It will just be interesting to see what happens b/w him and McNabb. Maybe they will try this wildcat formation using Vick Westbrook and Jackson.

  • I am glad that someone picked him up. I agree that he did his time and now he has to go back to work. I see that he is suppose to be on 60 minutes this Sunday.

  • I'm glad someone picked him up, too. He did his time - I know it'll never be left alone, but I think he deserves to play.

I'm interested to see if they'll use the wildcat formation, too. I'm hoping he and McNabb have some good chemistry...and that he performs, because Philly fans can be unforgiving...

  • As and Eagles fan and an avid football fan, I find this move very interesting. Business wise its a smart move because they can condition Vick to be that player from 2 years ago and can trade him the future for mega bucks and trade, hes an investment. As an Eagles fan, I wonder if he will replace McNabb who has been lukewarm and out every other season. Interesting...

Exactly, it's a smart business move.  If and when Vick is allowed to play (and he gets back into shape), they can do SO many things with him.  He can throw, run, catch, he's the total package.  Like Ocho Cinco said, have fun defending THAT.  It's too bad that Westbrook is coming off his game a bit, and McNabb is always hurt, because that team would be unstoppable!

I just love Philly though.  For years people bitched and moaned about McNabb, and there were always grumblings that he should be traded because he's always hurt.  Now the Eagles pick up Vick, and everyone screams "we already have a QB!"  Sheeh make up your mind people, a few weeks ago you were probably cursing McNabb!

  • I hate Vick. I hated him when he was in Atlanta and I lothe him even more after what he did to those dogs.  I hope this ruins the Eagles season and someone knocks the sh!t out of him.  He sucks anyway as a player.  He does not deserve to play football ever again and make that kind of money.  He is not remorseful for what he did.  He just wants to say he is so he can play again.

    My sentiments exactly.

The McNabb story has been going on since he was drafted in 1999, I do think McNabb is sick of it  and probably wants out. I know a lot of fans are upset because Dawkins was traded and wasnt offered enough money but thats the way the cookie crumbles. In regards to Westbrook, we need him for the season but he now has a bum ankle and its not looking goof for him.

Also, I don't condone what Vick did by any stretch of the imagination but I do think he deserves a second chance. We as humans are so quick to judge one another based on everything and anything that we do- just take a look at any US weekly! In the Philly community he could be a positive influence to help being down the under ground dog fighting rings (their pretty bad here)

How many second, third chances do NBA players get? Hello Allen Iverson!

  • I have no love for the Eagles.

The NY fans will eat Vick alive. Giants vs * x 2...let's see what happens.
