The State Fair

If you've been to the State Fair, let me know what you liked and didn't like this year!  I'm heading out there later this week, but will only be able to be there for a few hours, so I wanna make the best of them!

Re: The State Fair

  • As much as I hate to admit this, it is usually the same each year. I would recommend getting the day schedule ahead of time (they are online on the fair website) to see if there are any events in particular you really want to see.

Personally, if I only had two hours I would hit all the animal barns first. Others might be more interested in the open and 4-H projects...or the rides. I guess it depends upon what you like.

  • We're going on Thursday ;) That said, I always hit the bunnies!!!, the dairy bar for a milkshake and grilled cheese sandwich, I also love the old fashioned "Hooks" drug store, all of the animals, and of course people watching.
  • I always hit the bunnies!!!

So sad that you'll miss them when you go. :( It's lame that they are only there a few days. But I think it would be far too hot and stressful for them to be there more than a few days at a time.

  • Yah.. that sounded terriable.. I would never hit a bunny ;) and I am super bummed I'm missing them this year but you are right, it's hard on them with all this heat and humidity. We just couldn't figure out a better time to go with our nutty schedules and my silly dental stuff.....

As a knitter, I keep joking that angora is my retirement plan :)
