Coming to Little Rock

DH and I are coming to Little Rock this weekend for a wedding.  We are staying at the Peabody.  We are using this as a little "vacation" as neither of us have any involvement in the wedding so we have no real schedule.

I'd like a few recommendations of places to eat... local places.   We will need Dinner Friday night and Lunch on Saturday and Sunday.  No real preference on price or anything.

Thanks!

(ps, amanda, hi from houston!!)

  • Hi!!!

As far as places to go eat there is quite a selection.  As far as places downtown go there is a great variety: Boscos, which brews their own beer which is pretty good and everthing I've eer had there has been great...may I recommend their brick oven pizzas...DH love the fist sandwich and their garlic parm fries are to die for.  There is also Sonny Williams, which is a steak house and it is a little pricey.  There is the Flying Fish, They Flying Saucer and quite a few other places.  If you don't mind getting out driving then West Little Rock has other optins as well; there is Bonefish (www.bonefish.com), if you want the best bbq ever there is Whole Hog Cafe which isn't far from downtown, Cajun's Wharf which sits on the river and they have a great deck is pretty good, Mimi's Cafe, for lunch there is a place called Scallions and it's in the Heights part of LR which isn't too far from downtown either.

That's a pretty good list, if you want more then just say and I can recommend some more.  You could probably also "Google" Little Rock, AR and then things to do/places to eat.

  • Sekisui, Loca Luna, Star of India, Boscos, Cajuns Wharf, Hanaroo and Sticky Fingers are what my friend recommended. She also said that the Peabody has a pretty good restaurant too.

I say eat at the one on the river, it probably has a good view. Downtown Little Rock is nothing compared to Houston so you shouldn't have any problems getting lost. lol

  • Sounds like most of the good places are covered. Either downtown River Market or West Little Rock have good choices.

  • Thanks ladies.  I am thinking Cajun Wharf for Dinner and Boscos for Lunch for sure!
