Hey all, I usually post on TIP, but I decided to mosey on over to the local board. I live in N. Miami Beach... Transplanted from GA. I have been here going on 5 years now and I still have not found much to do in Miami ( I know, I know, but I honestly think this place is only fun if you are a tourist). So I figure If I hang out here then maybe I will find some new things to do. I hope everyone is well
.
Re: Hello All! I am new :)
Welcome! There are several events going on in Miami that make it fun for the locals. We usually post them here or if not you can ask about anything you might be interested in.

Great! Sometimes I find it hard to to be in the "know" because I am not that outgoing, but I will definitely be on the lookout for cool fun things around town posted on the board. The siggy I found on photobucket!
There are great restaurants here, which is a great thing. I like all types of stuff, just depends on the mood of my SO too. I was born in Gainesville, went to high school in Gwinnett county (norcross area), and I moved to Atlanta after college before I moved to Miami. Cumming is really nice. If you have questions about GA and places, I will be happy to answer them for ya. I really miss it a lot.
Welcome to the board! I have to agree that there are fantastic restaurants in Miami - DH is a chef so we like to try as many as we can.
We recently just went to Por Fin the Gables for Miami Spice and loooooved it. In case you don't know, Miami Spice is an event where local resaurants that might normally be on the pricey side offer a set menu of at least three courses for $35 pp.
We also went to Crazy Pianos in the Grove for the first time on Saturday (which just recently opened up in CocoWalk) and we had a BLAST.
What did you have? I have heard so many mixed reviews that we don't know if to check it out even though it is owned by a family friend
Anthony had:
Huevos Por Fin - Awesome
Oxtail - doubly awesome
Some brownie banana dessert which was super rich, but yummy.
I had:
Duck Confit Salad - Delish
Shrimp Risotto - Decadent
Key Lime tart - reeeaally tart and too much, but the flavor was good.
You should definitely go try it and you must must must have the White Sangria. I wanted to take a bath in it, it was so good.
Hi there! I already replied to you in another post to let you know I think you are hysterical
Coming from someone that grew up in Miami my entire life, I am *just* discovering my niche in this town - so don't feel too bad. I don't really do the whole "Miami scene" - so if you like dive bars and doing things that are a little less trendy & more laid back, let me know b/c I can give you some recommendations
