Re: PCP/TTC/ATP Wednesday
I have no QOTD suggestion.
All I can think about is possibly being pregnant.
4dpiui, AF due Wednesday the 26th. Plan to test Tuesday the 25th. I just want to KNOW!
Overall, I've been feeling good, normal, and not too stressed. I've just been enjoying the fact that I could be pregnant. The first few days actually went by quickly... Now I just want to know!! 6 days 'til testing...

I'm kind of envious of your short LP and the fact that you don't have a true 14 day wait
We have our 2nd u/s later today. I'm excited, nervous, and terrified all at once! Oh please, please, please let there be a baby with a heartbeat in there. K knows I'm nervous and is so sweet and supportive.
Other than that I'm feeling okay. My boobs have already gone up a cup size so I'm worried by the end of the pregnancy I'll be in the DD/E range. I have yet to get sick but between 4-7pm (ish) I feel like crap. I want to eat but nothing feels good and I get super tired from doing anything. But it's all for a worthy cause so I'll suffer through it
I have to say I like the short LP too! We have a 1.5ww
I just hope it doesn't end up causing problems!! I am usually 10 days, which the midwife said is kind of the cut off for "enough."
Can't wait to hear about your u/s!!

We went to the RE for a consult on Monday and I had bloodwork and a swab taken for testing...and a preliminary ultrasound. I was on CD 10 and appearently have fabulous follicles and thick uterine lining, so that is promising. It also looks like the insurance will pick up a lot so that's cool...we'll see when I get the consult bill I guess:)
So we're rolling for Jan/Feb, so that is super exciting. I kind of want to push it up but we really want to go skiing first since we didn't go last yr and it'll be off the table for a while!
Hi All:
I'm a newbie, have been lurking here for a little while. I was very happy to be sent the link to this forum with others in my boat! My wife is about 13 weeks pregnant. We had an interesting road to the first IUI, but we were lucky enough for it to work on the first try back in June. She had a pretty miserable first trimester (so I did too
) but is starting to feel much better. We had an extensive ultrasound on Monday and got some really good pictures of legs and fingers and face, so that was awesome.
Everything is still a bit unreal.
Guess we'll start with that. Nice to meet you all.
E
cookie - that's great news! I think skiing first and then TTC sounds like a great plan!
E - welcome and congrats to you and your DW!
well, she's officially crossed into the third trimester and we're going crazy trying to get things done before this little monkey arrives. we've pretty much got the nursery cleared out, and the paint color is decided on but we're having out electrician come in the next couple of weeks to do a couple of things so we're holding off on painting for now.
we've been working on getting things together for a garage sale and clearing stuff out of the basement, as well as moving things away from the walls down there. we're having some work done that's scheduled for the end of september, but could happen at any time if they have something open up.
we've finally started a real registry at bru, although it's still very incomplete. we also registered for the bedding and accessories we like on amazon (it's not available at bru or target) because her mom and bff were asking about it--i think for the shower or something but i'm not sure.
we have two showers tentatively planned in october, one in her hometown for family and another here for local family and friends. some of my coworkers have said they want to have one at work, too--which seems like a lot to me, but who am i to argue?
we'll also be informing her brother this weekend. there's a family wedding on saturday. we'll be going up on friday and staying at her bff's house because her brother and family will be at her parents', so we'll probably go over there on friday to see her parents and telling her brother then, if he doesn't figure it out by looking at her (she's actually really starting to show now). we'll see how that goes.
aaaand that was long. sorry!
Jealous!!!!
I'm still a lowly B cup, same as pre-pregnancy.
Maybe I don't have a heightened sense of smell, but I've never smelled any vagina on my pants. -- TSD
Bloggity Blog - You know you want to...
Nothing much new to report here. It's hot out this week, so I'm hiding inside most of the time... heat and I did not mix well before pregnancy, and with feeling not great its definitely worse now. That's about it though!

when I went to get measured for nursing bras a couple of months before my due date, I measured as an F.
And it only got worse after delivery and my milk came in (but I didn't go buy new bras - and I don't even want to know what they got to.)
Thankfully, they did go back down - but not as much as I would have liked.
We're doing okay. Very happy about the good u/s yesterday, of course. Unfortunately, after having 2 days with no bleeding or spotting, I had some spotting this morning. Just brown, but of course that still worries me because that is how it started last time. I trekked down to the health unit and rested for a bit, and I'm going to try to limit my activity for the rest of the day (S is downstairs getting me lunch right now; I am doubly grateful that we work in the same building!).
I am feeling horribly guilty about the spotting because last night I forgot about the restrictions (no exercise, pelvic rest), and I ran maybe 20 feet to catch a door. I know that's probably not what caused it, but I still feel bad.
In other news, the storage room that was to be my nap room is being turned into a conference room. So I won't have free access to it and they may make the door un-lockable. But I can still schedule "meetings" in there and go lay down then.
IUI #3 gave us the best 2nd anniv. gift ever: 2 babies! (born 03/09/10)
Peanut and Little Man are getting so big! 2 years old already!
finally blogging again at This Will Be: An Adventure
oh, my poor wife. she is going to be in so much trouble.
Thoughts and prayers are with you! Let us know ASAP how many tears of joy you cried when you saw the heartbeat! All will be well.
BEST!
Today was not your ordinary day. C was spotting and I walked with her down to the Health Unit. This stuff is scary! I called the doctor and he called me back a couple of hours later...he ALREADY had the report from the MFM! He tried to reassure me (us), but also acknowledged the fact that it is scary.
Another update, I told my daughter Saturday. I took the advice that was so genereously offered and it went GREAT, she is so EXCITED! Unfortunately, she got really scared that evening with all that was going on. She has called everyday, sometimes more than once. You could really tell her emotions were genuine. Thank you all for the advice...it truly was a BLESSING!
QOTD: If you had a doctor that you really liked and who acknowledged your partner as your spouse, but who had a staff that was, let's just say "stand-offish," would you stay with him?
Yes. The doctor (or doctors since you'll end up seeing all of them at some point) are far more important than the front end staff. I find that most front end people are "stand offish" under regular circumstances. Unless there is some blantant disrespect/homophobia - I'd stick with the doctor you like and take the rest with a grain of salt.
Congratulations on the conversation with your daughter going so well! YEA!
i'm so glad everything is going well and you got the reassurance from the doctor. and how awesome that things went so well with your daughter! these ladies give such good advice.
qotd: i'm honestly not sure what i would do. i probably would unless it got very bad, in which case i would probably ask to talk to him privately about the situation before leaving.
eta: ok, 2brides answered that so much more eloquently than i did. i second her, which is pretty much what i was trying to say in the first place.
Brit: Holy cow, I cant believe its 6 days before testing!! Crazy! It might not feel like it now, but it'll be here before you know it. and of course we're all wishing you the best news ever
Two: hurray again for your healty baby! And, i'm predicting GIRL!
Cookie: how about a bit woot woot for fabulous follies and a thick lining! throw in a yee haw for insurance coverage
every penny counts.
E: welcome! congratulations to you and your wife! look forward to getting to know you
Blue: Third Tri?! so exciting! I know it all feels a little overwhelming now, but when the time comes you will be ready. All your little boy really needs are his two great moms - and maybe a diaper....or 50. And best of luck this weekend...not exactly one to look forward to, but getting it out and behind you will be better in the long run.
Meegs: sorry about all the m/s
hope it passes soon. take it easy in the meanwhile
2brides: an F?!?! i dont think i can even comment on that....you poor, poor woman.
TWB: i'm so sorry you're hitting these rough patches - i can only imagine the scare its giving you. hang in there. these days will be just a distant memory when you are holding two adorable babies in your arms.
N2A: I'm absolutely THRILLED to hear how well your daughter took the news. her excitement is testament to the love you share
QOTD: It depends on if I suspected the standoffishness was due to our same-sex-coupleness or just in general. If it was the former I wouldnt hesitate for a second to pull the doctor aside and let him know how i'm feeling. A doctor needs to know if he's losing patients because of his staff - and its also important that the office is all on the same page regarding topics such as this. For me, a doctors office can often be a semi-vulnerable place to be, so i need to feel as comfortable as possible there.
Our update is in the blog. PM me if you need the pw.

Sorry to come in late on this one.
So our update is they are starting to talk about going home! Ok so I think we are in for a couple of weeks more but hell the light at the end of the tunnel is in sight!
Ella was 4lb 4 oz yesterday and 17 inches! She is starting to outgrow her preemie clothes! She has gained almost 2 lbs and 3 inches in 6 weeks not bad! She also took a full feed by bottle last night for a nurse and nursing going pretty well and she is getting better and better. They also said that she will be in a crib probably by this weekend! So long isolette.
Ella also had another eye exam today. Her retinas are still imature but are improved since last exam 2 weeks ago and show no ROP. She will be rechecked in 2 weeks. Our primary nurse asked the Dr if we would be seen as an outpatient if we are discharged! That is so cool that she thinks that we could be home in 2 weeks!
Now we really need to get out act together and get the apt ready for our little girl. We went to see if we could find a glider tonight. No luck but I think we may have found one at another store that we want to look at cross your fingers that we find one that we can get soon!

Sam - great news!
N2A - your daughter's reaction brought tears to my eyes! She rocks!
TWB - QOTD: I agree with pps. :-)
Sam,
Fantastic news! C is happy to hear it to!
I'm super late to this...sorry.
Sounds like there's pretty good news all around! Three cheers for Ella, adult daughters excited for babies, and great follies!!! And cheers to all the other good news that I'm too lazy to list...
Our update: Getting sick a few weeks ago and having high fevers totally through my chart off. And I'm way overdue for a
on the opks and haven't gotten one yet, and haven't seen any signs of ewcm.....but I'm trying not to stress....heavy emphasis on "trying"
Question: We'd probably stick with the doctor and talk to her privately about how her practice could be more inclusive. <This from the woman who squealed in delight when looking at the line for "Spouse/Partner" on the new vet's office forms. N was mortified. lol.>
