So I am heading to get my CA DL. I don't know how they are here but in CO it's an all day event. UGH! I have to take the drivers test...I'm kind of nervous think it's possible to fail?
Re: on my way to the DMV
Going to the DMV isn't so bad if you've made an appointment.
Of course it's possible to fail. Anything is possible.
Good luck.
ditto on the appointment thing. if you're going to a first-come, first-serve one, good luck as people line up from before opening at some locations.
yes, failing is possible even for a seasoned driver as they dock points for things a lot of people don't do all the time anymore. just don't run a red or touch the curb when parking--automatic fails--and you will probably end up without too many points off at the end.
good luck!
If you don't have an appointment you can look ahead on their website and see the current wait times
DH and I did our drivers tests in Laguna Hills back in 2002 and it was hilarious. DH got 100% on the written but was one point away from failing the drivers test. I got like 2 wrong on the written or something and only 1 point on the drivers.....
Back in 2002, we walked up for the written but had to make appointments for the drivers.
Good Luck!
Be over exaggerated in your mirror checks, make sure to make complete stops at stop signs BEFORE the cross walk and don't hit the curb for the parallel park.
Good luck! The things I got docked for were:
1. "Rushing" a u-turn. Oncoming traffic was seriously very far away, but the examiner had a different opinion.
2. Making "too wide of a right turn" back into the DMV parking lot at the conclusion of the test.
Coming from CT last year, we just had to take the written test. CA does have some unusual rules. We reviewed the manual they have online and we both passed. But like others said, failing is certainly a possibility.
