MY OWN NUTSHELL -- The Blog
Re: .....Madison Nesties.....
I go to Ecco Salon in Fitchburg & see Shelley. She's fab. I pay $40 for a cut/style, and I just had a gloss done and paid $30 for that. I've never had color done there, though. Depending on where you're living, Fitchburg might be way out of your way.
When I moved here last summer, I tried several places out and always seemed to end up paying right around $40 for a cut/style.
Also, off topic, but make sure to check out our Sept. GTG thread
Marlow at Heads Up in Sun Prairie. $25/cut
Judi at Aniu in Middleton. $40/cut
My friend does my hair and she's way up on the northside of town. Basically in Middleton/Waukakee.
But, if I didn't go to her, I would go back to Cha Cha. I love that place Very punk, rock and roll and the staff is great. My H actually goes there sometimes.
Alrighty - I have officially scheduled an appointment at Ecco for late next week... the drum roll begins! I had the worst time finding a good stylist in the last place I lived!
I'll spill the details w/pics upon completion. Thanks for the recs
I hope you like it there - I'll feel like crap for being the (first) person to suggest Ecco if it turns out you hate it!
(Don't tell me if you hate it, ok? I can't handle it.)
Hair results are in! I'm super happy Thanks so much for the help!!!
Ecco was the salon... my stylst was Rebecca... it was a bit pricey, but I've had worse. A full foil & cut ran me 115.

Looks great! I'm glad you had a good experience Cute cut, too.
Now I don't need to worry about being "that girl that recommended a crap salon" & having to hide from you at the GTG
Thanks again You rock!
Now tell me... what's your favorite Mexican restaurant????
I'm probably not the best person to ask about restaurants, since I've only lived here a little over a year...and I haven't been to too many Mexican places. But, here's what I think of where I have been (or at least, where I can remember that I've been):
Abuelo's (in Middleton): Fab sangria/margarita drink. Food is reasonable & good, but it's a chain, so it's typical chain food...not the most authentic place.
Casa del Sol (in Fitchburg): My favorite Mexican place I've been to - food is yummy, drinks are yummy...it's cute inside. Plus, it's close to where I live, which is always a bonus.
Pasqual's (I went to the one by Hilldale Mall): Food was good, but they raped me on the price of my sangria. And the waitress was kind of mean.
I just realized we've actually had GTG's at every one of these places. Hrm.
I'm sure there are places downtown that other people can suggest, but I haven't had many chances to go out to eat downtown. Apparently, I need to get out more.
Great cut and color! I was going to suggest RZ & Company on Odana Rd. (they're a no tipping salon, which I really like) but sounds like you already found your place!
Ditto BrewersMama's Mexican restaurant choices, and I'll add Frida's to the list. It's downtown on State St. next to the Comedy Club. DH and I like to go there for dinner and then walk next door for a show. Always a good time!
