Why do people think it takes months and sometimes a year to get pregnant once you get off the pill?!
People...you can get pregnant immediately. UGH!

After 2 rounds of IVF & 2 rounds of FET, we were blessed with identical twin girls!

There was absolutely nothing offensive about this post and if there was, it wasn't meant to sound that way and I apologize. I'm just simply saying it shocks me when people are stunned that they are pregnant right after they stop the bc pill.
Again I apologize if it was taken the wrong way. I honestly didn't mean anything by it.
Please believe me when I say it wasn't my intention.
As far as me posting, I do post here and there, but not too much because I feel like everyone's already so close and I tend to get intimidated...this being part of the reason. I never intend to say anything that's going to offend anyone or cause negative reactions towards me like this.
Well IMHO there is nothing offensive about this post if :
A) this was a baby board
It was a random post, and if you had lurked or read any tickers you would know this is something that is not appropriate for the "culture" of this board. No need for a full flaming, but I am sure there are many of us shaking our heads.
While that's all well and good (and actually probably a reason why a lot of people don't post here), this type of post probably wasn't the best way to introduce yourself. This isn't a baby board ... no one hates kids (correct me if I'm wrong) but it's not a topic of discussion here.
And I'd be careful where you post this. There are a lot of women struggling with getting pregnant and things like this, while unintentional, kinda make it worse (knowing that people get PG the first month while we're all several months/years into the journey).
Trust me, not a full flaming by any means, but just a FYI.

I understand it takes people months, a year, many years to get pregnant. I actually talk about it with DH often because I think he and I both assume I'll get pregnant right away when realistically it doesn't always happen. I've also talked to him a lot about how often I see that ladies on these boards try for many many years and how I can't even imagine what it must be like to go through all of that.
Anyways, my attempt at making conversation and getting more involved in the board definitely went the wrong way which sucks.

In your first post I, and by the reaction of others here, read it as "it doesn't take years to get pregnant, it happens the first month" and well, that's just so not true for so many (trust me, I'm 7 cycles into it). I now think that wasn't what you were trying to say, so no hard feelings, but just understand that's how it was interpreted.
Because it does. For a lot of people, like myself. Of how I wish I was one of the lucky few who got pregnant right away when coming off the pill. Instead, I went through 2 In Vitro Fertilization cycles, 2 Frozen Embryo Transfer cycles, 3 miscarriages, surgery, an HSG, 2 SHGs, an MRI and endured over 300 injections to get pregnant. And I consider myself lucky. Some ladies on this board still aren't pregnant desite month and years of trying, and it's devastatingly difficult.
Now do you see why people may have been offended?

this is the most bizarre way to try and ingratiate yourself with a board of women who you already know are tight-knit.
i'm not even going to touch your OP, as much as i want to ream you a new one.
go post this on, say, any bump board. you'll see that the reaction here is ridiculously tame compared to the fire of a thousand suns you'll get there.
Hahaha I post a lot on the Bump Getting Pregnant board and I can tell you without a doubt that the flaming they would have been quite an experience. They would not have been nice at all.
Not only do I think your post is insensative, but it reeks of arrogance. This is what Trolls post when they are trying to stir up drama. It surprises me that you are shocked by our reaction.
Are you trying to tell us you are pregnant thus expecting tons of congrats?
I am not sure what to say. I think most of it has been covered here, but WOW. As a PG woman who went through her own struggles and loss, this is just truly offensive, regardless of what your true meaning was in the OP.
um duh! Scientifically speaking it is possible to get pregnant on the pill, but WTF know one wants science rubbed in their faces and as someone who has been ttc for 3+ years OUCH!
