OB/gyn help needed! anyone know dr lopez..in waterford lakes

Hello ladies I'll try not to drag this out- but I'd love some input ...

It's been a while since I visited this site and I'm gkad to say I am back! 2 yrs ago I lost my daughter at 39 wks, it's been a long painful journey but here I am about 6wks preg!!  The bad part is since dh& I are self emplyed I have private insurance and cancled the maternity part of the policy after I lost my daughter...I had no idea when I would have the courage to try again. )  At this point my insurance won't take me and neither will MOST of the Orlando area dr.s will accept self pay or meidcaid(if I even qualify)

One of the few who accepts patients no matter what the situation is Dr. Lopez out by Waterford lakes..someone told me about him a long time ago I just cant recall who! Just wondering if anyone has delivered with him.

Also...Florida Hosp? how was your experience there? I delivered my daughter at Winnie Palmer, nice hospital great nurses but bad memories for us. I don't think I can go back there- to make it worse they seriously need to brighten the colors, it's depressing! ( I think a man was the decorator)

Thanks to all who answer :)

  • Hi there!  Congratulations on your pregnancy!  I am so sorry to hear about your daughter.  I can't even imagine what you have been through.  But it is good that you are back.

I know nothing about Dr. Lopez.  Why won't the other practices take you if you are self pay?  Obviously I don't know what happened last time, but it sounds like you may also need to see a perinatologist during this pregnancy too.  Just something else to consider.  I'm sorry I can't help you more with information on that doctor.

As far as Florida Hospital...I don't think it is anywhere as nice as WP, but I'm sure you would get great care there.  I can totally understand why you would want to deliver in a different hospital.

Congratulations again!  I hope you have a happy and healthy 9 months!!!

  • I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your daughter :(

I don't know about OB recs, but I delivered at the Baby Place (FL Hospital Winter Park) and my experience with the hospital was fantastic. I loved it and would deliver there again in a heartbeat.

  • I am so sorry about the loss of your daughter.

Congrats on being 6 weeks pregnant.

Try calling The Women's Center.  Dr. Kareem is amazing, and she has another location located Downtown, along with the Hunters Creek location.  Lots of luck!
