Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. More tax on alcohol?
The hubs told me about this a few days ago but I didn't think about it till today and now it goes in affect next Tuesday? As if drinks in the city were expensive enough. Looks like I'll be stocking up when I go visit the parents in Milwaukee & drinking at home even more now!
Before the Increases
Beer and Cider up to 7% Alcohol - $0.185 per gallon
Wine and others under 20% Alcohol - $0.73 per gallon
Spirits and anything else 20% Alcohol or more - $4.50 per gallon
After the Increases, Effective September 1, 2009
Beer & Cider up to 7% Alcohol - $0.231 per gallon ($0.046, or 25% increase)
Wine & Others under 20% Alcohol - $1.39 per gallon ($0.66, or 90% increase)
Spirits & anything 20% Alcohol or more - $8.55 per gallon ($4.05, or 90% increase)

Yeah I know about it. My husband runs a restaurant and the prices on alcohol are being adjusted as well. The beer and liquor prices will be going up 25 cents. I wouldn't be surprised if other restaurants raised their prices too to make up for the increase!
