Have you ever broken anything?

This is inspired by my accident last Monday.  I was running and took a really bad fall and ended up breaking my nose.  It's the first time I've ever broken anything.

Re: 8/24

  • Holy crap!  I hope you heal quickly!

    I've broken a few bones, the most recent was my left pinkie finger last Halloween.  Our cat got out of the house and I was chasing him and tripped and fell.

    Before that, in 2006 I fell on a broken stair and broke a small bone in my foot.

    And the only other broken bone I've had was a hairline fracture in my arm when I was about 3 years old.  I was involved in a high-speed wagon accident. Stick out tongue

  • OMG are you okay?!?!

    I have not broken a bone before except my pinky when playing volleyball in junior high. I did have my septum cut out and re-sewn in last January and that was bad enough. I imagine that felt like a broken nose. Sheeet. I hope you're okay.

    I am fine.  I was in a lot of pain, but I took Lortab and that helped.  I've just been icing it and waiting for it to heal.  It should take 4-8 weeks to heal completely.

  • Me?  never.  ::::knock wood::::.

    But your post reminded me of my mom.  She fractured her nose last Saturday.   I still get nauseuos thinking about it.   I didn't see it happen, but she tells people (when they asked what happened) "I heard it crack".   Gives me the heebie jeebies and makes my nose hurt.   I remember as a kid hitting my nose on a pool ladder and seeing stars- so I'm sure a broken nose is 100X worse.   ::::shudder:::::

  • Never broken anything.

     I'm convinced my bones are made of rubber.  I can't think of how many times I SHOULD have broken something, but I didn't.

  • sctiger-youch!!! Lortab definitely helps w/ that kind of pain!!

    I broke my jaw when I was younger-bike accident-my chin vs concrete-concrete won (Tongue Tied) It's still a bit out of joint, but very rarely bothers me now.

  • I haven't broken anything yet! ::Knock on wood::
    But I have sprained both ankles a few times, sprained my wrist, and gotten burnt when I was younger and worked at Chick Fil A!
    But, I just found out my tendons in my ankle are messed up (probably from dance..) and I need physical therapy and possibly a surgery that will keep me out of work for 6-12 weeks! AHHH!
