Didn't know that Ethan Allen in Hbg closed

I noticed that while we were out and about.  I can't say that I'm surprised though.  We went in there once a couple years ago and I thought they had crazy prices for the quality of the furniture.

  • I didn't know that either, but I am not surprised.  I am bummed that I probably missed a good sale.
  • I would say it has been about a month and a half since I noticed. It practically went out overnight. I am in that plaza at least once a week. Bad market research on their part.
  • hum, I didn't know that either.  DH and I stopped in there once shortly after we bought our house.  The sales people were telling us how their target audience was young people like us.  We walked out thinking, "Young people? Not with those prices."

LOL I think we might of talked to the same salesperson...I remember someone approaching us to try to sell us on their design consultant services too.

I agree with pp about bad market research but I think the location was bad for them too being tucked in between Target and BRU.  They might of done better in a location where people actually walked by their store fronts instead of drive.

Ditto...I heart a good sale too!

  • You're right, I hate missing a good sale.  It doesn't surprise me though, I liked their furniture but would never pay the prices.

  • It was a good sale, too!  They had things 60 or 70% off when I was there in early June.  I think it closed either end of June or end of July.  Came home with some great cheap accessories!
  • I was wondering how the sale was!  Glad you got some good deals, Jill.
