Baby dreams :)

I'm pretty sure we've all had them. I had one last night and it just made me realize how consistent mine always are.

So my question is, do you always dream of a different baby? Or is it the same baby every time?

For about the last 2 years, every baby dream I've had has been of the same baby. It's always a boy and he always looks exactly the same.

He's really cute, btw :)

Re: Baby dreams :)

  • How nice!!! well, then Justine - that will be your baby!!!! :)  I actually have not had any dreams :( I want to have one!!!  my mom keeps telling mne that she has... :)  and that it's a girl ( I only want girls ) and that she has red hair.. that will be different! :)
  • Honestly, I've only had one dream with a baby... and it was actually HER birth.  It was a bit traumatic as she got a dislocated shoulder during birth (random), but I wasn't able to see her face.  All I know is that she had Dh's toes.  LOL  I really dislike his toes, so it was the first thing I checked. LOL

  • I've had baby dreams, but they're always different. I have noticed though, that they seem to be related to my anxieties and fears. It seems like the more things I cross off my list that are directly related to her either being a girl, or something with her name on it, the more I think "what if this baby is a boy?"

I know I would be thrilled about having a boy or a girl, the important thing is that he/she is healthy. But the pink nursey and the more things I get that say "Carley" make me question the tech's results.

  • Nikki - not to freak you out because I'm sure Carley is a girl :)

but I had a friend who had a u/s done and the tech said it was a boy. Her whole pregnancy they told her it was a boy. She bought all blue, navy, boy stuff and when she gave birth it was a girl.

    Awesome.

  • I used to get them often, but it was always vague and the babies were always different. The last one I had (a few months back) was *very* vivid and it was a boy. Strange b/c I always say I want a little girl.
  • I'm sure I had some baby dreams before I got pregnant, but ever since I found out I was pregnant I have had vivid dreams about having a boy - and I've seen him in different stages of his life - I think the last one was when he was 5, in kindregarten and I got called in to the principal's office cause he did something - I even had a whole conversation with him - weird.

So I always felt I was having a boy and then the day we were going to do the sonogram to find out the gender I was really nervous that it would be a girl and that I would be disappointed - I'm sure I wouldn't have been cause I just want the baby to be healthy, but I guess up till that point I was so sure it was a boy that I didn't know how I'd react.

Me?? Freak out?? No, I'm cool as a cucumber.  ::snatches paper bag and takes big, deep breaths:: LOL

Seriously though, I have NO IDEA what I would do if this baby is a boy. I guess he'll just be stuck wearing girly onesies and sleepers with colorful polkadots for the first couple days LOL!

  • That is amazing how you have had different dreams with the same little boy in it. That should mean something.

I have had baby dreams, but its always been different babies.

That is so cute :) Before I got pregnant, I had a lot of baby dreams but I could never make out the baby's features very clearly. Since I've been pregnant, I've BARELY had any baby dreams...I think maybe one? And again, I couldn't really remember what the baby looked like. It was just a generic baby.

Emma being a boy is one of my biggest fears. Not because I wouldn't love a boy, but because of how much I've already planned on her being a girl. I've already bought so much girl stuff and I'm sure I'll be getting tons of girly stuff at my shower. I can't imagine all of that going to waste and having to start from scratch with buying boy stuff. A lot of the big ticket items (furniture, stroller, car seat, swing, pack'n'play, etc.) are gender neutral, but we have sooo much girl clothes :/

Luckily, as far as ultrasounds go, we got a pretty clear, 100% sure type of shot proving that she is a girl. It's not just that there was a lack of boy parts...the tech could actually SEE her girl parts (the labia). So if it turns out at the next ultrasound or at her birth that she's a boy, there's definitely something freaky going on in there lol.

LOL don't worry, I think for the most part it happens the other way around (they tell people boy and it ends up being a girl). I was freaking out my entire pregnancy because of that (they told me boy and everyone kept saying my belly looked like a girl belly, etc.). In the end I had a boy! lol

Just- that is super cool that you always dream of the same boy! I read or saw (don't remember) something like that before and the person had that baby! I also read before that babies "pick" you and some decide to pop up in dreams (like yours). I'm not sure if I believe any of that BUT it's pretty cool to think about!

Definitely very cool to think about. That just made me all happy inside for some reason lol
