Happy Tuesday!

Did everyone have a good night?  Do anything exciting?

Any plans for today?

I got a call yesterday afternoon that my car was ready early (supposed to be ready today) so C had to pick up Sarah then come home to get me.  We decided to go to Islands for dinner first then head to Norco to get my car. We hated shelling out that kind of $$ but I needed the new radiator (it was leaking).  I also need brakes but we're holding off til next month.  On the way home, I ran to TJ's for milk and C to Sarah to BRU for some frozen teething toys.  By the time we got home it was time to say "night night" to Grandma and PopPop on skype and then a bath and bed.  Sarah did NOT want to be alone in her room last night and threw the mother of all tantrums (so far) for almost an hour.  No tears...just screaming, throwing stuff, stomping her feet, etc. for about 45 minutes.  It was lovely...

Oh!  I forgot to tell everyone!  Sarah went potty in her potty chair on Saturday!!  Yay!!  We had just brought it home and figured we'd just leave it out for her to play with (no pressure).  We took her diaper off to change her and she went into the bathroom, sat down on it (I had to push her back a little bit) and she peed!  We couldn't believe it!  We were dancing around and cheering for her!  Yay Sarah!

Hope everyone has a great day!

Re: Happy Tuesday!

  • Wow way to go Sarah (on the potty not the tantrum)!!! That's awesome!

Last night got my haircut at a salon near our house. I wanted to get it cut before our trip this wkend but knew I wouldnt have time to drive up to the girl I normally see so I decided to go to a place close by. They were having a special so I figured I'd save money and the drive. The cut looks great but I couldnt stand the girl and made me feel bad about "cheating" on my amazing hair stylist. Oh well...

H was sick last night so I made him some grilled cheese and soup, took the dog to the dog park, then finished up the design for the invitation I'm working.

    Today finalize invitation...

  • Wow Lori. That's great! (the potty training thing). And it's pretty early for her too right? Aren't they usually not potty trained until they're like 2 1/2?

Last night sucked. Mary was being a bit of a booger and I'm not sure why. She gets so mad at me when I tell her she can't play in the dogs water. I am such a mean Mom. :p

  • Yay Sarah!

Last night we finally relaxed a little - A's brother and wife came to check out the house and we watched a little bit of a movie. Hopefully I can get the bathroom put together when I get home from work today. L is making it hard to get anything done, he's been wanting lots of attention lately - prob b/c there has been so much going on.

  • yey Sarah!!!

Last night was uneventful until about 9. We tried Joaquin on a new food-Apples and Oatmeal. Not doing that one again. He woke up vomiting and proceeded to do that for another hour or so. Poor thing emptied out his whole stomach. Had to give him another bath. 3 different pairs of pj's. Isabel kept asking if her baby was going to be alright. And oh yeah all of this while DH was still at work. But this morning he just fine and back to normal. He does this everytime we move him to new level of food. But always gets over it.

Today for some reason I just can't stop worrying, Isabel's 3yr checkup is tommorrow and I keep thinking the dr is going to tell us we are doing a horrible job. And that something is going to be wrong with her. I guess with that whole abcess thing and all the illnesses going around the news, I'm just super paranoid.

  • I am so exhausted, I want to cry.

C was sick over the weekend. One minute he was laughing and the next he wanted me to rock him to sleep. It was definitely a stressful weekend.

Kristy: hehe give her a clean bowl to play with, and some toys!

    Lori: Congrats big girl!

    Noosh: Pics ;)

Kat: I bet you're going to feel great, when he says (as we all know) she's perfect!

Becki: After C gets over this cold, bring him over. :D

  • Oh wow good job Sarah! :0)
last night I cleaned up and did laundry thats about. MH works tonight so I think Im going to pick up some pizza and rent a movie whent he boys get home from football practice
  • Oh, Kat. That's a bummer about J. Was it the Earths Best brand? If so, Mary's had that stuff too. We tired noodles and beef sauce yesterday and Mary cried her entire meal. Wouldn't eat but 2 bites. She hated it. She's never cried with fruit or veggies but she's cried with the "spaghetti" and "mac n cheese". :(  I don't know what to do with that. I mean do I give up and just feed her veggies until she's on solids. Or do I froce her??

Anyway...Sorry to hear about J. That is awful. Esp with your H not being home. :(

  • Brandy-Thanks. DH told me the same thing

Kristy-Yeah it was Earth's best. It's just his routine. He did this the first time we gave him solids so we waited another week or so before trying again, and again when we tried to move him to the level 2, and again when we tried giving him a combo (like apples and apricots) so we are just going wait a couple more weeks and try again.

As for Mary, you definitely don't want to force her. Isabel didn't eat any solids until she was a yr old. Maybe a bite here and there and that was it. And since she was still gaining weight like crazy and looking healthy her dr said it wasn't nothing to worry about. Every baby is different.

  • I should clarify that the foods were gerber. The mac n cheese was stage 2 and the other was stage 3. But I agree...I am not going to force them on her.

I read something once about how it can take up to 10 tries for a baby to decide if they like a food or not.  Give it a week or 2 then give it another shot.

  • Good Morning Everyone,

Yesterday I went to my grandma's after work to see her sister who is visiting fro San Jose.  There was lots of extended family there that I hadn't seen in years, so that was nice.  Then came home and went straight to bed.  I've been exhausted lately.

Tonight I have a meeting for a non-profit I'm on the Board for, then going home for dinner and then to bed again.

  • Wow- eventful nights for all! Lori- yay for Sarah's potty use! Sorry about the tantrum- my niece throws those kinds- where she just screams until she is literally sick- it can last for HOURS.

Kat- sorry about J! Sick baby is no fun- but at least it was short lived! And don't worry about Isabel- she's wonderful and you guys are good parents- things happen, kids get sick, they get abcesses, it happens. Heck, I was sick ALL the time as a baby, and it had nothing to do with what my parents were doing, it was just me (and unfortunately it transferred into adulthood too, I'm always sick, lol!)

Kristy- I LOVE the 8 month picture of Mary - where did you get those onesies? My best friend is having a baby and she would love something like that! :)

Becki- YAY for the house!!! Enjoy it- the move in process is a peach though, lol.  How exciting! Take lots of pictures :)

As for me- nothing eventful happened last night- played with puppies, when to my chiropractor, got my new glasses that I love (yes I know, exciting life right?). Went to sleep early (around 11, lol) because I have been absolutely exhausted lately- it seems like I can never get enough sleep- its really weird :( Tonight nothing exciting planned- just more cleaning and playing with puppies :)

  • Good afternoon,

Lori, yay on the potty training! She's such a big girl!

Kat~ Sorry J didn't react to the new foods so well. I don't really have any advice, but I can imagine spending all night cleaning vomit is anything but fun. I bet I's appointment tomorrow will go great. you are doing a great job with her. Smile

Brandy~ Sorry you're so tired. Hopefully you'll get a chance to catch up on sleep soon

Last night we just did grocery shopping and hung out. Nothing exciting, which is fine. With all the house hunting, nights at home have become rarer. I'm ready to be done now.

  • Actually, Amy sent me the months in an email and I print it out and iron on every month.

I hear ya. That's one reason why I'm so tired. We just made a quick run during lunch to look at a house. :/
