Ode to a Scuffin:

You were supposed to be a delicious lemon-ginger scone but alas, your creator lacked the reading comprehension to carry out the recipe correctly. In her haste to get you into the oven she added the egg into the mixture rather than saving it to give your top a lovely golden brown glow. Since you were too much of a gloppy mess you had to be forced into a muffin tin and now look like deformed little muffins. Not to worry though dear scuffin, you are still quite delicious. 

 

Maybe we should add a "Cooking Accidents: The Good, The Bad and The Ugly" to our J9 Food Blog.

Haha... they still look pretty good - I found a recipe for Blueberry Scones the other day on the Brown-Eyed Baker blog and was thinking about trying them this weekend.  I'll remember to leave the egg out now for sure!

I'll take one! Oh why do you tempt me with your delicious dessert pictures?  Sadly I'm out of lemon bar mix, so I can't bake anything right now. ; )
