Coming to Miami over Labor Day - need recs!

DH and I are coming to Miami next weekend...hopefully the weather will cooperate a little! We're staying at the Loews (great rate due to construction). I think our "splurge" meal will be at Nemo...I've been there before and really liked it.

Any recommendations for less expensive but fun dinners? Or breakfast/lunch places we can walk to from the Loews? How about must-see places in the area?

Thanks in advance!

  • Check out the link below.  Aug & Sept are miami spice months, you can get a set menu lunch or dinner at awesome restaurants at a very affordable price.   Hope this helps!

  • Larios has very authentic Cuban food, and is on Ocean... pretty reasonable, and good food - lunch/dinner.

News Cafe is also on Ocean, a bit further south that is nice, and good for any meal.

Opa is a mediterranean restaurant, not walking distance, but close by and is A LOT of fun!  Think belly dancers and dancing on the tables.  LOL

Lincoln Road is a pedestrian street with LOTS to do (17 st) - restaurants, shops, bowling, movies, clubs, bars.  Rancho Grande is a great Mexican restaurant off Lincohn.  Nexxt is similar to Cheesecake Factory, and is a great place for people watching (must sit on the patio, near the street).

  • There a tons of great resteraunts on Lincoln Rd. like Jackie recommended. We went last weekend and tried a resteraunt called Van Dykes which was really good. There's also Sushi Samba. It's a mix between Brazilian and Japanese. If your feeling daring, that's a great place to go. I went with a big group of friends, most of us could only identify about 3 ingredients from each dish, so we all ordered a seperate dish that we semi-understood. Everything was so delicious, I highly recommend it. For dessert we like to hit the Ghiradelli ice cream shop. Larios too is one of my favorite Cuban places, or there's always the classic Versailles where the locals love to go too. HTH!
