Nurses

Any nurses (RNs) on here??

Re: Nurses

  • I am a new grad nurse and having such a hard time finding a job.  Wondering if there were any other new grads out that and what they were doing?
  • RN here =)  Welcome to the wonderful world of nursing! Yes  Ive been a nurse for 3+ years and at the time I did not have too much trouble finding a job, there are a lot of new grad programs out there.  Keep trying, San Diego has lots of hospitals! I know that Sharp is always hiring, and offering incentives to recruit new nurses. Check out their online job listings or call a recruiter. Are you looking toward a specialty? Message me if you would like more info!

Good luck on the job hunt!

  • I work in recruitment for one of the major hospitals.  Our new grad positions open up in September.  candidates have to look online for information on how to apply for the new grad positions.  We had over 650 apps for less than 40 positions that we posted in the Spring.  Competition is very very tough and positions are limited.
  • I'm a RN as well, although not a new grad.  I currently work in a medical spa, so I'm not much help on the hospitals out here.  When I had just finished nursing school, I did go through the new grad program though, so definitely stay on top of that, as it will probably be the best way to get your foot in the door.

So crazy that it's hard for nurses to find a job right now, do you have a certain area that you would prefer to work in, or are you open to anything?  (Med/Surg is probably going to be the easiest place to start-although I can't say it was my favorite thing.  I found an internship in NICU and LOVED it.)  Good luck!
