photography people come in
since we have a few hobby photographers and prof photographers, I have a couple questions..
Since I want to stay married and still have a home, there will be no purchasing of the latest and greatest photoshop in any near future, so I am looking for a cheaper alternative to photo editing. I had CS2 on my computer, but when it crashed a few months ago, it was unable to be recovered. I have really been looking at the Photoshop Elements, and that seems to be the best, but is there any other options out there?

there are a few free programs that will let you tweak pics, just not as well as you could with photoshop. google picasa is one that is pretty easy to use.
if you think you'll eventually upgrade to photoshop, though, go with elements. it'll save you the trouble of learning a new system all over again.
you could always look for a bootleg copy of cs2 on ebay if you wanted. also, if you are an educator (or someone you know is), you can get a pretty hefty discount buying it online through adobe.
how big of a discount are we talkin? i have several teachers in my family and D's uncle is one of the comp gurus for the school board for E. Fel... he's the one that restored my computer when it crashed..
I'm not a photographer but Adobe offers a free Photoshop on the internet with pretty good editing capabilities as well.
