Vacation ideas

Next Friday we're going to NYC for five days and were wondering if you ladies have any suggestions for good restaurants and fun stuff to see or do. We're going to see the Lion King and I have a few other things planned but I would like a few more ideas.

Re: Vacation ideas

  • You're going to love lion king!! especially the amazing set and costumes!

We're planning weekend to the city for my bday and the following is on our agenda:

    - MoMA and the Met

    - WTC site

    - dinner in little Italy

So I'd rec all those things :)

And if you've never been to nyc before you should hit all the biggies like times square, statue of liberty, central park, the villiage, ect

  • If you've never been, do Ellis Island - LOVE - the ferry also includes the Statue of Liberty.
  • Yesterday we went to the Titanic exhibit  in times square.... very interesting.

My favorite casual and not expensive restaurant recommendations are Ollies Noodle bowl in times square ( chinese) and Stand for burgers and the most amazing toasted marshmallow milkshake. Its on 12th street between 4th and 5th by NYU in the village.

Also be sure to get a metrocard for travelling the subways and busses. Makes life quick and easy. You also can get discounts to some things with it.

If you want to see another show... off broadway check out Avenue Q if you are not easily offended or The Marvelous Wonderettes. Both are great fun. You can get tickets at the TKTS booth for good deals on the days of the shows. ( its in times square too)

    Have a great time!
