Poll: Signficant current events
Sort of a spin off to the other poll -
What do you think was the most significant current/political event of each decade of your life?
For me:
1980's - Fall of the Berlin Wall
1990's - OJ Simpson trial (I know there were a lot more important things that happened in this decade, but that was such a huge deal at the time, it's the first thing I think of!)
2000's - Obama's election (it was a toss up for me between 9/11 and Obama, but I think Obama's election is even more significant because of the mess we have gotten ourselves in since 9/11, so it won for me).
What do you guys think?

1970's: Elvis died (the year I was born)
1980's: Reagan shot, challenger exploded
1990's: There are a few for me. Columbine, cloned sheep, gulf war, oklahoma city bombing.
2000's: Probably the blackout for me since it really showed how a lot of people/agencies had not learned anything from 9/11.
1990's: the gulf war and columbine2000's: tie between 9/11 and obama's election?
70's: Roe v. Wade (even if I wasn't alive yet)
80's: Challenger explosion, Polish solidarity movement, tearing down the Berlin wall, Pan Am Flight 103 explosion
90's: Gulf War, LA riots, death of Princess Diana
2000's: terrorist attacks on 9/11, Obama election
