Crafty Peeps

I sure have missed alot in the last week!...

I am creating a peacock costume this year....I have a long satin teal skirt but I want to create a "tail" with feathers.  It will be a down peacock tail...so I was thinking of attaching the feathers to some type of long apron....but a new idea would be over-lapping 3 or 4 layers of tulle and attaching to that.  Would the tulle be strong enough to hold the feathers and not lose shape?

Any better ideas?  I am looking for limited sewing so I thought the tulle might be a good option but I have no experience on what it can and can not handle.  Is there a better fabric with no sew option?

  • I think the tulle would be strong enough.  Search your local fabric store and look for stiff tulle.  I would also ask the staff there.  Sometimes they have really great solutions to problems.

    Looks like a neat costume
